The next expansion for Upper Deck’s World of Warcraft TCG, Scourgewar,
introduces a new class, the Death Knight, as well as other content from
Wrath of the Lich King. The tenth booster set for the game takes players into
the frozen realm of Northrend and pits them against the inhuman forces of
the Scourge.
Scourgewar introduces several new elements to the WoW TCG, including
new mounts, new keywords, the Death Knight class, and the Lich King’s
lieutenant himself, Kel’Thuzad. A new set of rules, Strand of the Ancients,
appears on points cards throughout the set, and three Loot cards give players
of the MMO more options for cosmetic equipment for their characters.
Scourgewar releases in November.

Crafty Games LLC will release FantasyCraft, a source book
for running a fantasy RPG using the Spycraft rules engine,
under Mongoose Games’ Flaming Cobra imprint. Previously
announced as a softcover, FantasyCraft will now be a 288page black-and-white hardcover retailing releasing in August
or September.
FantasyCraft includes a wide variety of racial options for
creating characters, from the typical fantasy staples, such as
elves and dwarves, all the way up to ogres, drakes, and
“unborn.” Players can also choose from over 20 classes, dozens of spells, and mountains of adventuring gear, weapons,
and equipment.
The book includes four campaign settings, with two more to
be released via PDF, allowing players to get into the action
immediately. GMs can customize the settings for bleak,
gritty, or high-action campaigns. Also,
rules for scalable battles are included,
for anything from simple skirmishes to
massive combats between clashing armies. Finally, the creatures and concepts
in FantasyCraft can be adapted to any

WELCOME A BOARD!
TABLETOP BOARD GAMING
Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) will release a new strategy tile-placing game,
Infinite City, this October. The game casts
players in the roles of corporate leaders,
maneuvering to place their buildings and
resources in the most advantageous way
possible, with the goal of controlling the
largest, richest, and most influential districts within the city.
Monday - Thursday 10 AM to 10 PM
Friday - Saturday 10 AM to 12 AM
Sunday Noon to 10 PM
Matthew M Fay, Owner
Phone: 513-923-1985
E-mail: matthewm@yottaquest.com
Infinite City includes 120 building tiles and
is designed by Brent Keith, creator of
AEG’s Tomb board game with art by Legend of the Five Rings artist Charles Urbach.
The game is for two to six players ages 10
and up, and takes about 45 minutes to play.
NEWS OF THE REALM
INDUSTRY NEWS
Mayfair Games is bringing the Catan Dice Game Deluxe Edition to North American
shores later this summer. This quick-play version of the award-winning Settlers of
Catan board game comes with everything needed
for up to six players to explore the island of Catan
while on the go and can even be played solo.
Instead of laying out a board of tiles, players keep
track of their roads, cities, and knights on pads of
paper showing a map of the island. Six resource
dice dictate what players have to work with each
turn, and the entire game – dice, rules, and score pad
– fits inside the lidded leather dice cup.
SMALL VICTORIES
MINIATURES GAMING
Wells Expeditions’ Arcane Legions collectible miniatures game kicks off
its organized play program in November with weekly in-store leagues. Set
in 37 B.C., the game pits three factions – Romans, Egyptians, and Chinese –
in a pitched battle for world dominance with the aid of
supernatural warriors and powers.
League play for Arcane Legions will consist of monthly
campaigns to be run over four weeks. Overall winners
for the monthly campaigns receive victory banners,
which can be inserted into faction bases as trophies.
A display of HeroClix Thor’s Mighty Chariot figures at the
NECA booth at Comic-Con was
the visible evidence of the deal
about to be announced: NECA is
acquiring WizKids. The Thor’s
Mighty Chariot box actually has
Topps marking, indicating that
the product was manufactured
before the sale.
Looney Labs, the publisher of
Fluxx, has signed with Publishers
Services Inc. for distribution to
international accounts, and to the
book trade and “other key accounts” in the U.S. While the
company has had some penetration into the book market (Barnes
and Noble), PSI will now offer
the company’s products to a number of other chain accounts, as
well as taking over the Barnes and Noble relationship.
The new distribution relationship began July 1st.
