These are cross-referenced to "Pierron's Modern GB and Commonwealth Missing Colour Errors" (2008), which lists only "totally missing colours". References are made to the results for Sir Gawaine Baillie's errors that were sold at auction in Melbourne in July 2005, generally for stronger prices than were achieved in London for Tom Pierron's errors in December 2009. Unlisted in the ACSC. Unlisted in the ACSC. 750 Lot 314 314 ** A A1 1966 Birds 15c Galah vertical strip of 3 from the top of the sheet with the Grey Printing (tree branches) Largely Omitted from the first unit, and partly omitted from the other units (the last unit only slightly affected), unmounted. RPSofV Certificate (2011). [This is derived from BW #455cb, a vertical strip of five from which the lower pair - the last unit with the Grey Printing Completely Omitted - has been removed. The ACSC states that only one pane - ten strips of 5 - has been recorded, Cat $5000 for a strip of 5] 2,000 Lot 315 315 ** A B1 1966 Christmas 4c marginal pair from the right of the sheet with the Olive Printing (Background) Partly Omitted resulting in the Value '4c' being Omitted BW #471cc (SG 407a), unmounted, Cat $10,000 (£6500+). One of the most spectacular of Australia's "Missing Colour" errors. RPSofV Certificate (2011). RPSofV Certificate (2011). The only recorded mint examples. [The ACSC states "One example with magenta printing omitted, used on piece cancelled at Sydney, has been recorded." That stamp is Ex John Sinfield: sold for $5750 at our auction of 26/1/2004. The entry continues "This error was previously listed and priced mint, but no evidence has been found for the existence of mint examples." This item proves the existence of mint stamps, and demands their reinstatement in the next edition. 10,000 Lot 317 317 ** A 1970-75 Floral Coils 7c Desert Pea vertical strip of 6 all with Buff (Detail) Printing Omitted, the fourth unit also with Black (Inscriptions) Omitted, plus third and fifth units with Black Printing Largely Omitted BW #535cd (Pierron #937Mca/bVar), unmounted, Cat $3500 (£3375++ as singles). A striking error. [The ACSC states that only twelve stamps with black printing completely omitted have been recorded. [The black printing being omitted causes the white inscription '25c AUSTRALIA' to be omitted. The ACSC states that only five such strips can exist. [The complete omission is the last stamp on the upper pane. All stamps from the lower pane are affected, the first being very minor to the last with about 80% omitted. [ACSC states at page 9/254 "......Portion at least of a second sheet has survived in which some stamps showed 'AUSTRALIA 12c' omitted, but 'REHABILITATION' at base remained intact. [On the second stamp only the 'AU' and 'RE' are present; on the third unit only the 'c' of '18c' is visible. Pierron lists only 100% colour omissions. Sir Gawaine Baillie's strip sold for $1955] 2,000 Lot 329 329 ** A- 1972 Rehabilitation 24c Boy Playing with Ball with Brown Printing (Inscriptions) Omitted BW 599c (Pierron #1032MCa), very minor paper wrinkle, unmounted, Cat $7500 (£4,000). One of the most spectacular of all the Missing Colour errors. [ACSC states at page 9/260 "......possibly the bottom row of 10 of a lower pane was affected, of which the majority of stamps either did not survive, or have yet to appear on the market." Obscene initial cost. Enough postage for several average lifetimes! With a normal M/S for comparison. [An uncut imperforate sheet of 42 M/Ss was sent to the Russian Post Office for colour-matching with their similar issue & was sold to an Australian dealer! (many 100s) 350 2003 Australian Football League 'P'-Stamp sheetlets of 20 for the then 16 teams, plus for the 2005 Premiers (Sydney) & Rugby League Premiers (Wests Tigers), unmounted. Face value $180; rip-off issue price $360. (18 sheets) 150 357 ** A Lot 358 358 V A 2009 Christmas 50c Christmas Tree P-Stamp with Pale Green Printing ('50c') & Pale Red Printing ( 'AUSTRALIA') Omitted tied to greetings card envelope by '66 ST/ GEORGES TCE' (Perth) cds. The eagle-eyed recipient, Joy Lower (wife of Harry), alerted the sender but he had not retained any examples. It is believed that only one other cover - from the same source - is recorded. 500
