Contact: Tom Forsythe The Little Hollywood Movie Museum is located directly behind Little Hollywood Land in a grove of lush cottonwood trees. The museum has been designed as a fully immersive experience. As you walk among the movie sets, you are encouraged to touch and relive the vivid illusions brought to the big screen by some of the world's most famous actors and directors. The Chamberlain family, descendants of Thomas and Mary Chamberlain, bought the cave in 1951, and the following year opened a tavern and dance hall in it. Although you can't order a drink today, the unique bar is still here, along with a huge collection of objects and artifacts that ranges from authentic dinosaur tracks (more than 140 million years old) to a beautiful fluorescent mineral display. You'll also see Native American pottery, spear points, and other art and artifacts. This unique area has an incredible history and consists of a picnic area, pond, dock, and slick rock walls. Contact: Staff in lobby, 435-644-2601. Founded in 1931 by the three Parry brothers (Whit), Chauncey, and Gronway, Parry Lodge has hosted some of the biggest names from the golden age of Hollywood. John Wayne, Frank Sinatra, Olivia De Havilland, Gregory Peck, Maureen O'Hara, Tyrone Power, Linda Darnell, Robert Taylor, Anne Bancroft, Dean Martin, Lana Turner, Clint Eastwood and Barbara Stanwyck are just a few of the hundreds of stars and character players that stayed at Parry's while filming in the many scenic locales in and around Kanab, Utah. The outside of the building depicts murals of activities found in the area. The inside of the visitor center provides area information and several displays about area attractions. This location has become known to a handful of locals as muley canyon and offers pristine beauty in an iconic canyon very close to Kanab complete with its own narrow slot canyon. To reach this location drive north on Highway 89, approximately .7 miles from the north Kanab welcome sign. Watch for the port of entry sign, immediately followed by a 45 mile per hour speed limit sign and turn right (east), proceeding up the dirt road to your desired canyon filming location. Big Water, Utah Address: 57 miles east of Kanab. Contact: Kelly Stowell, 435-899-0443 Big Water is located in the heart of the Colorado Plateau. There is rich sedimentary geology in the area. Time spans represented around Big Water range from Late Jurassic to Late Cretaceous rocks. The formations immediately around Big Water are the Carmel Formation, Entrada Sandstone, Dakota Formation, Tropic Shale, and Straight Cliffs Formation. Disney recently filmed the movie John Carter,, in the area in addition to feature films Maverick, with Mel Gibson and Planet of the Apes with Mark Walberg. KanabWelcome Signs Address: Routes leading to Kanab Contact: Kelly Stowell, 435-899-0443. Kanab’s main transportation corridor is decorated with several different styles of welcome signs. On the north end of town stands the ode “Greatest Earth on Show,” and at the east and south entrances displays the phrase Kanab, a “Western Classic.” Traveling north along 89A towards Kanab from Fredonia, Arizona in Utah is the iconic “Life Elevated” sign.
