They will be in Bloomington, MN from April 16-18. Kassidy Sykora and Natalie Basta will be competing in the individual event, “Everyday Equations.” The Senior Buzz team consists of: Sam Bauer, Michael Bauer, Jordan Bauer and Austin Stueve. EmilyAnn Kleindl and Alyssa Herberg have an Advocacy star event about nutrition and wellness. Katie Costello and Mikaela Bork are competing in the National Programs in Action Star Event about Student Body. Kassidy Sykora, Kayla Moberg, and Sharon Tritz are competing in “Promote and Publicize” with their project, “Stand Out With CGB FCCLA.” Good luck to all participants and look here next week for an update of the FCCLA State Conference. Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 By: Kenedi Stotesbery Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 is the upcoming sequel to that All-American comedy film from seven years ago: Paul Blart: Mall Cop. After six years of protecting the mall, Paul Blart has earned a vacation, so he heads off to Las Vegas with his teenage daughter, played by Raini Rodriguez (Trish from Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally) before she goes off to college. While there, Blart stumbles upon a heist and must single-handedly apprehend the crooks. Mall Cop 2 comes out today with Kevin James returning as Paul Blart. If you’ve seen the first Mall Cop and loved it, and have nothing to do on a Friday night, go see Mall Cop 2. Girls Sports Summary Boys Sports Summary By: Jacey Douglas By: Brittany Backer At the girls’ recent game against Wheaton, they played hard but came up short with a score of 7-9. Their next game is against BE is on Friday at home. The Clay Busters’ first meet was Sunday and they will continue to have events every Sunday until the season ends with the state trap shooting meet in Alexandria in early June. The golfing girls are represented by Jessaline this year who is hoping everything keeps drying up so she can go out and win some meets! The Tracksters are off to a great start. Their first meet went very well and many athletes placed. Seniors who had a great showing in Milbank on Tuesday include: Jamie—second in the 3200m run. Rachael—third in shot and sixth in disc. In LQPV, Rachael placed first in shot and fourth in disc. The 4x4 team of Callie K, Nora, Jamie and Callie V. also placed fourth. The baseball team had their first win of the season on Tuesday against Canby with a score of 12-1. On Monday, they suffered a close loss of 6-5 to a conference matchup against Ortonville. They also lost against BE on Friday. Today they play their rival, Wheaton. On Tuesday the Tracksters traveled to Milbank for their second meet of the season. They came out with three firsts, along with several other places. On Friday April 10, they traveled to LQPV, earning three first places and a couple second places. Their next meet is tomorrow in Morris! The golf team traveled to Ashby on Tuesday. They did not earn any places, however, they did do well for the start of the season. On Thursday April 9, they traveled to Battle Lake where Matt Backer earned fifth place. Their next meet is in Minnewaska on Saturday! Girl Athlete of the Week Boy Athlete of the Week By: Hannah Breeggemann This week’s athlete of the week is Nora Murphy! She is in ninth grade and loves sports! She participates in volleyball, where she is number 5 and she is the middle. She also runs track where she is a hurdler. I play . . . Volleyball and run track I am known for . . . Always being sick! My favorite sports moment is . . . Watching a video of a hole in one from a guy who hit a tree and the ball rolled in. Also last year in Wheaton when Bear got the unexpected pin for the win.
