General Overview
Buchanan Crossroads North Shopping Center, located on the northwest corner of Fowler and
Herndon, is a new development located in Clovis, CA in one of the fastest growing areas in
Fresno County. The center consists of approximately 34,000 sq. ft. of retail, financial services,
and restaurant venues.
Location
The intersection of Fowler and Herndon avenues serves as key crossroads in north Clovis,
providing steady traffic volumes on Herndon Avenue, and at the interchange to Freeway 168
on Fowler Avenue one quarter mile north of the intersection.
Area Highlights
Freeway 168 serves approximately 29,000± commuters daily traveling between Fresno, Clovis
and the foothill communities of Academy, Prather and Auberry, including the Shaver and
Huntington Lake areas. Herndon Avenue continues to represent the primary east-west arterial in
northern Fresno/Clovis being recognized as the main growth corridor in Clovis. Fowler Avenue
is the only arterial stretching from the northern most point of Clovis all the way to southern
edge of Fresno County.
Buchanan Crossroads North also attracts many residents from the more rural eastern area of
Clovis seeking retail stores, restaurants, and grocery shopping. The center is exposed to high
traffic volumes and has positive population growth taking place around its location.
Approximately two miles northwest of Buchanan Crossroads North is the 5,000± student
Buchanan High School/Alta Sierra Intermediate School, and the 3,000± student Clovis West
High School. Farther north, a second community college facility is planned for construction at
Shepherd and Willow avenues. Clovis schools are ranked among the best rated in the United
States with higher than average test scores and newer schools. Cal State University Fresno
(25,000± students) and the new 16,000 square foot Save Mart Center on-campus arena are
located approximately two miles south of the subject site.
One mile east of Buchanan Crossroads North on Herndon Avenue is the Clovis Community
Medical Center, one of the largest and most comprehensive medical facilities in the San Joaquin
Valley.
