Academy Vision THE LEADING HIGH PERFORMANCE ACADEMY BY 2018 ACADEMY MISSION Identify and develop Scottish and non-Scottish eligible players through a sustainable and professionally managed academy structure, fundamentally based on a player centered approach. To deliver professional players for London Scottish first and foremost, from where ultimately these players can reach the elite level of international rugby, representing Scotland and other international teams. The aims will be achieved through strong and mutually beneficial partnerships between London Scottish and the stakeholders involved in the academy. ACADEMY SIZE AND SCOPE OF CATCHMENT AREA Places for over 35 players in the senior academy squad and over 50 in the junior academy squad. Recruitment drive over next five years heavily focused on schools, colleges and clubs within a 30 mile radius of Richmond (10 million people +) and an awareness campaign in Scotland, as well as the rest of UK. FACILITIES Based at the Richmond Athletic Ground, the Senior Academy players will train alongside the professional squad and in the senior setup. Junior Academy players will take part in academy specific sessions. Academy players will also have access to our club gym and the newly developed Human Performance Lab at GlaxoSmithKline. THE JUNIOR ACADEMY • Bridges the gap between junior rugby and senior professional rugby THE PRO LIONS SELECT • The best players from the Senior Academy will train and, in some cases play alongside the professional squad. Top guest coaches, current and former greats of the game, all add value in our lectures and coaching sessions. Fully supported by strength & conditioning coaches and physiotherapists. FIXTURES The Junior and Senior Academy squads each will play approx. 8 -16 academy games per year in addition to age group or senior games respectively.
