EPAC WELCOMES BACK CENTER STAGE SUMMER THEATER CAMP DIRECTOR! “MY DAUGHTER ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE. IT WAS THRILLING FOR HER TO BE ABLE TO CREATE AND PERFORM IN THE 3 PARTS OF THEATER.” At the end of each week, we will have an informal presentation for the parents showcasing the campers’ progress. At the end of all four weeks, we will put the show together for a public performance. Please note it is not required for campers to perform in the final show to attend camp or participate fully in each week’s activities. The Ephrata Performing Arts Center is proud to announce the return of Irving I. Gonzalez as Camp Director of our 2015 Center Stage Summer Theater Camp. Irving’s on-going success with the Kids4Kids Series has proven to provide young artists a creative outlet for exploration. Irving has used his theatrical experiences and knowledge while working as a Recreation Program Manager in the fields of geriatrics, individual developmental disabilities, and other aspects of adult/student development. He also has practical experience as an instructor and theater coordinator for the Reading Bureau of Recreation, where he worked for seven years. Irving plans to bring all of his skill and knowledge to bear in the development and practical application of EPAC’s Summer Theater Camp curriculum. Campers who are entering grades 1-7 in the fall are invited to experience music, dance, theater, and the visual arts. Our Center Stage Summer Theater Camp is designed to inspire creativity, exercise the imagination, and explore storytelling through the theater arts. EPAC’s teaching artists nurture individual talents in a creative environment with an emphasis on collaboration and ensemble building. “[ The staff]were an inspiration to my kids. They really brought out the best in them.” EPAC’s Center Stage Summer Theater Camp will encompass a wide variety of classes designed to promote enrichment, passion, and fundamentals in all areas of the arts. Students will have an opportunity to choose electives throughout the week. Our professional instructors pledge to offer campers classes that will awaken confidence, nurture potential, and inspire creative license. EPAC offers theater that matters Our targeted classes are for students entering grades one through seven, keeping in mind their overall potential and maximum use of their talents. Camp classes and activities may include the following: Summer Camp, 2014 • Improvisation and Stage Movement MASTER CLASS WORKSHOP The 2015 Center Stage Summer Theater Camp will offer a two week master class workshop for students entering grades 8-12 from August 3 to August 14, noon to 3 p.m. The cost per student will be $350. This master class workshop is designed to offer “triple threat” intensive programming. Artistic Director Edward R. Fernandez and Center Stage Theater Camp Director Irving I. Gonzalez will serve as facilitators. Workshops include: • V ocal Warm-Ups and Breathing Exercises , Theater Terminology • D ance classes- Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Musical Theater • M aster Workshop – Audition Readiness, Song Selection, Character and Scene Development, Script Studies, Monologues and Cabaret Performance • E xposure to Technical Training- Stage Crew, Sound Board, Lighting Design, Stage Management • O n-Stage Performance- Student Driven/Created I.General Overview of Musical Theater Performance II. The Right Monologue Intensive III. Acting and Scene Study Intensive The final class of the workshop will include a student showcase presentation. Please contact Edward R.
