In order to handle them properly reliable geoscientific data and easy-to-use information systems are necessary. Monday June 8, 2009 The 6th European Congress on Regional Geoscientific Cartography and Information Systems (EUREGEO) with its subheading "Earth and Man" shall again serve as a platform for experts from regional and national geological surveys, from universities, research institutes and from the industry as well as practical engineers. Its target is to discuss recent and future developments in the use of geoscientific data and the application of new methods – forming a bridge between scientific research and practical use. 08:00–18:00 14:00–15:00 15:00 –16:30 18:00–20:00 For the congress from June 9 to 12, 2009 we expect experts from more than 40 countries. Venue The 6th European Congress on Regional Geoscientific Cartography and Information Systems (EUREGEO) will be held at the Bavarian Office for Surveying and Geographic Information (Landesamt für Vermessung und Geoinformation, LVG), Alexandrastraße 4, Munich/Germany, from June 9th to June 12th 2009. Posters are planned to be on display for the entire day of the respective session. All accepted authors are kindly asked to submit an extended version of their contribution for printing. These contributions are limited to 4 pages A4, including tables, figures and references, and are due by January 31, 2009 using the template furnished at the website. Accepted contributions will be published in a special volume once the obligatory registration fee has been received (receipt of payment until April 15, 2009). Detailed instructions for the submission of contributions are available on the website www.euregeo2009.bayern.de. Excursions Pre- and post-congress fieldtrips to the impact crater Nördlinger Ries and to landslides in the Bavarian Alps are offered. For each of the 1-day bus excursions a fee of € 30 per person will be charged in addition to the registration fee (lunch is included). Payment is required until April 15, 2009. Excursions will be organised depending on the number of participants. For further information please refer to the website www.euregeo2009.bayern.de. The conference fee covers: • Access to the full programme (except excursions) • Conference bag and proceedings • Coffee breaks • Lunches (June 10 and 11) • Get-together on Tuesday June 9, 2009 Additional costs for excursions are not included. Change of registration If you are unable to attend the congress after registering, you have the opportunity to send another person in your place. In this case the confirmation of payment of the original registration must be presented at the registration office at the congress site.
