Nothing happens when I press the vacuum/seal button • Make sure the power cord is plugged in correctly. Test the electrical outlet by plugging in another appliance. • Check to see if either the power cord or the plug is damaged. If they are, don’t attempt to start. Air is not removed from the bag completely • The bag may not be completely sealed. To seal properly, the open end of the cut roll should be resting entirely inside vacuum channel area • The bag may have a hole. To test, seal the bag with some air in it, submerge in water, and apply pressure. If there are bubbles present this indicates a leak and a new bag should be used. 13 Food Sealer: Instructions FS_INS.indd 13 3/11/06 13:59:48 Troubleshooting Bag loses vacuum after being sealed • This may be caused by a leakage due to wrinkles, crumbs, fats or liquids. Open the bag, clean the upper part and take any foreign matter off the • sealing bar before trying to seal again Make sure the bag is free of holes. If sealing foods with sharp edges, first line the bag with napkins or paper towels Bags are not sealing correctly • The cause may be the sealing bar overheating or melting the bag. Open the lid and let the sealing bar cool down for several minutes Food Sealer: Instructions 14 FS_INS.indd 14 3/11/06 13:59:48 Cleaning Cleaning the Vacuum Sealer Your JML Food Sealer is easy to clean, just observe the following steps: 1.
