RENFREW B. I. A. Small Town Presented by Kathryn E. Windle Councillor Town of Renfrew Big Community HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO RENFREW? 1823 – 2016 ROOTS AND BUDS The original settlers of Renfrewville were farmers or workers in the lumber industry, and although the community grew quickly, it would be 20 years before the first store opened in 1840. • By the time it was incorporated as a village in the year 1858, the community could boast of a blacksmith shop, tannery, shoemaker, brewery, a doctor's office and an operating sawmill, along with other area shops and services. LET PEOPLE KNOW WHO YOU ARE Long time business owners and entrepreneurs are on equal footing in Renfrew’s B. I. A. CELEBRATING 150 YEARS A COMMITTEE OF EIGHT VOLUNTEERS AND TRILLIUM FUNDING NOW AND AGAIN 700 copies sold to date NOW AND AGAIN A Celebration Of Life In Renfrew, Ontario This Windle Media production, a personal gift to the Town of Renfrew, now resides in the municipal vault, libraries, schools and homes on four continents. The 10 year forecasts will also allow for the Town of Renfrew to start to save for the replacement in the future, hopefully a long time away, of the waste and water plant infrastructure. I would respectfully suggest that this is the kind of responsible financial management taxpayers are asking for - project the costs and the revenue targets, achieve them and at the same time renew/refresh the assets with timely investments, while making sure the system is safe and affordable for the users.
