Fundo San Jose Ecological Park & Lodge is a paradise for those who would like to enjoy the beauty of our exotic tropical jungle, with

indigenous family in the rainforest and the Sanctuary of Cock of the Rock.
We work with the communities outside the ecolodge. We have special programs for them such as English lessons for people in the
community, participating in agricultural and reforestation tasks.

HOW TO GET THERE?
The travel starts in Lima, by the Central highway. Once we leave Chosica, you can appreciate the impacting change in the landscapes,
which will accompany us during the entire trip. The towns of Matucana and San Mateo are the gate to arrive to the top: “el abra de
Anticona” (Anticona inlet), located to 4,818 meters above sea level. Ticlio is the highest point on the road. Since this amazing place,
surrounded by snow and blue lakes it starts the downturn. We will arrive to La Oroya, an important mining center, place where we
will take a side track to Tarma, so called “La Perla de Los Andes”. We continue the downturn by the oriental branch line of Los Andes,
in direction to the High Jungle of Junín “Chanchamayo valley”.

We will appreciate from the highway, the green mountains and the spectacular waterfalls welcoming us. La Merced, capital of
Chanchamayo, is a small city, with a warm climate, full of life and commerce, on the shores of the Chanchamayo river, at a height of 800
meters above sea level. Following the path we will arrive to Herrería Bridge (not enter to San Ramon), cross the bridge to reach the 104
km (Primax Chrismar tap as reference), the left side can see a big sign "Fundo San Jose”, enter that street and continue to front, finding
our wonderful Lodge.

Fundo San José Lodge has 10 bungalows surrounded by virgin forests and fields of orange trees. Each bungalow has two double
bedrooms. Large and comfortable sitting and dining areas offer fantastic views, give the perfect atmosphere for enjoyment, and relax.
15 double bedrooms (Twin beds). 5 wedding bedrooms (king beds) 104, 201, 206, 302 and 304 distributed in the 10 bungalows. In all
the bedrooms, it is possible to put an additional twin bed.
All of our rooms have a full bathroom, hot water, water from a spring, a fan, table lamp, low impact electricity, towels, a flashlight, wall
plugs, amenities (such as shampoo, hair conditioner and soaps), desks and telephone. Also, each bungalow has a big terrace with two
comfy armchairs and an auxiliary table where from you can appreciate the beauty of all the Chanchamayo Valley, since they are located
in the best place of the fundo, boarded of orange trees and protected by an exuberant forest.

Our 4 Adventure trails to you:
ROUTE 1: Fruits & citrus
This route passes through areas of citrus crops, the breeding of wild pigs and the way of chontas. You can spot various species of birds,
fruit bowls and fruit trees. It offers a good view of birds at dawn and sunset from the lookout tower.
ROUTE 2: Retrieving the forest and butterflies
This tour visits the reforested areas of forest, farm and area pupae butterflies, reaching the look point 2 from where you can enjoy a
panoramic view of La Merced and Chanchamayo River.
RUTA 3: Potoque: The Spirit of the Forest
This route includes a visit to the kennel area pupae and butterflies. Discover the oldest tree farm, the "potoque" which has more than
200 years and enjoy a panoramic view of La Merced Chanchamayo River and resting on the lookout San Jose.
RUTA 4: The route of the challenge and adventure
This route crosses three streams and allows deep into the thickest parts of the forest. Enjoy the sounds of nature that surrounds it.
ACTIVITIES AT LODGE:
ITALIAN DANCES – 1 hour
Tarantella is a popular dance from the south of Italia, from the Italian regions of Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania and Sicilia. It is
a dance of Neapolitan origin that has a very vivant movement. In its most common modern form, it is a dance of couple courtship with
music in compass of six by eight that raises progressively the speed and it is accompanied of castanets and tambourines. It has two
differenced parts: one in minor scale and other in major scale. During the Middle Ages, in some parts of the south of Italy, it was
believed that dancing the solo of tarantella could cure a type of madness supposed to be caused by the bite of the European spider, the
wolf spider or a tarantula. However, the name of tarantella comes from the Italian city of Tarento (in Italian language, Taranto). The
Saltarello, The Monferrina, The Pizzica, among others.
PLANT A SMALL TREE, “Lets plant a tree in Chanchamayo” – 2 hs.
Activities carried out for the reforestation of our forest, it is done in one of our reforestation zones, and with the help of an Agronomic
Engineer, the visitor could plant a tree. When coming back to the Lodge, the hotel will give to each person a Plant Certification.

EXCURSIONS
TOUR 001 - LA MERCED – SAN RAMÓN (Peru’s Coffee Grower Capital) - 8 hs
10:00 hours. We start the tour departing from San Ramón district to know the Main Square and the Alvariño Park. Then there is a of
30 minutes’ walk across the forest enjoying the beautiful landscape and then we arrive to El Tirol Waterfall, eco touristic place of
Chanchamayo, where we will enjoy of a refreshing bath. In the afternoon, we go to the Butterflies Garden and “Zhaveta Yard” Zoo
where we will appreciate the great diversity of butterflies in all their life cycle, also we will observe animals in captivity. We conclude
by walking back to La Merced, and then we will go up to the “Gran Cruz de Chanchamayo” Mirador. We will return to the Fundo.
TOUR 002- VALLE DEL PERENÉ (Nature and Culture) -8 hs
09:00 hours: Beginning of the tour. By the route we will observe the Profile of an Asleep Native Person (Perfil del Nativo Dormido) that
is a wonderful geological formation. We will observe the amazing formation of the Perené River. We continue with the course through
Puerto Yurinaki in order to, after a short walk, know the enchanting and astounding Bayoz Waterfalls, with its multiple natural
swimming pools and the Bride’s Veil (Velo de la Novia) waterfall with its 65 meters of fall; we could relax in the crystalline waters and
natural pools. In the afternoon we go to Puerto Chirani to take a ride in an outboard motor-boat by over the Perené River. We will
arrive to the Ashaninka “Pampa Michi” Native Community, where we will learn its history, will enjoy its music and traditional dance.
We will finish our visit in this place having a good time in a typical Ashaninka campfire with live music. Finally, we will visit a Coffee
Processer Mini-plant. Return to the Fundo.
TOUR 003- LAS REYNAS (Adventure tour) – 5 hs
10:00 hour: We will depart from the Kimiri town, cross the the amazing Kimiri Suspension Bridge and start a fun walk of two hours
approximately. First by a path that we will conduct us through the route of the Reyna Waterfalls, during the route we will observe
beautiful landscapes with abundant vegetation. Arrival to the full adventure route where we will enter to the river and will surpass the
different obstacles on the route; we will climb by lianas, climb rocks, waterfalls and all this with security equipment such as ropes,
gloves and helmets. At all time we will refresh ourselves and we can swim in its innumerable crystalline pools, after surpassing all that,
we will arrive to the wonderful waterfalls called The Three Queens (Las Tres Reynas) where we will enjoy as much as we can of its
waters and the impacting mystic wild environment. Return for a parallel path. *This includes security equipment (boots, ropes).
TOUR 004- BORGOÑA (Full adventure and ecotourism) – 5 hs
10:00 hours: We depart through Kimiri town, cross the amazing Kimiri Suspension Bridge and start the walk that will take us through
one stream up to a quebrada, during the route we will observe a beautiful landscape with a contrast of urban and wild environment, by
observing La Merced city and the majestic Chanchamayo river, we will know an ancient house made of stone, we start the adventure
(trekking extreme) through a nice path inside the secondary forest; we will climb up to rustic stairs, lianas, roots, we will climb rocks

and in every moment we will refresh us in the innumerable crystalline water, after surpassing all that, we will arrive to see two
amazing parallel waterfalls called Borgoña. Return through other path.
TOUR 005 - OXAPAMPA (Land of Austrian-German colonists) – 9 hs
08:30 hours: Departure to Oxapampa; during the route we will observe the great diversity of flora and fauna, we will know the Perené
Suspension Bridge, the district of San Luis de Shuaro (the land of tamales), the Paucartambo Brige (limit between Junin and Pasco).
Following the route we will observe beautiful landscapes. Arrival to Oxapampa. Visit to Santa Rosa’s Church, the main traditional
houses; “El Wharapo” Artisanal Plant, place where the rough liquor (aguardiente) and the traditional huarapo (taste and purchase). In
the Tunki Cave we will observe the formation of stalagmites and stalactites. Then to a farmhouse, where bovine and equine cattle are
raised. The “Floralp” dairy plant, where we could taste and purchase products. Return to La Merced.
TOUR 006 - TARMA (La Perla de los Andes) – 9 hs
We depart on the way to Tarma, on the route we will visit el Paso Valientes, the Carpapata Mirador, we will arrive to Palca,
Acobamba; then we will continue our travel through Palcamayo, where we will observe the Christ Face (el Rostro de Cristo), whose
shape is molded in a strong rock, after that we will visit Huagapo (The deepest Cave of South America) where we will see the awesome
and magnificent stalactites y stalagmites that form colossal shapes. In the afternoon in Acobamba, we will visit the Señor de Muruhuay
Sanctuary, there we will observe its beautiful architecture; after that we will visit the city of Tarma where we will make a short City
Tour: Main Square, Purchase of products of the Region. Return a La Merced.
TOUR 007 – NATIONAL SANCTUARY OF PAMPA HERMOSA – 10 hs
We left for San Ramon, on the way we see the impressive Ulcumayo River canyon. We arrive to the New Italy (Nueva Italia) annex to
visit two beautiful waterfalls called Blue Yacu and The Sacred. Leaving the vehicles we will start walking within the forest through the
Chavez Canyon Bridge, until reaching the plateau of Pampa Hermosa, where the oldest and largest cedar trees in South America (600
years) are. Across the road you can appreciate the great diversity of flora and fauna as woolly monkeys (monos choros), armadillos,
coatis, Orioles and several other species that abound in the National Shrine. In the afternoon we visit a lek of Cock of the Rock (Lek de
Gallitos de las Rocas) - (Rupícola Peruviana) where we can observe the national bird of Peru. We return by the same mystical path.
Return to La Merced.
TOUR 008 – VILLA RICA – 9 hs
We leave for Villa Rica, following a lovely path with lush vegetation. Arrive at Villa Rica and we will move to a coffee farm to observe
the cultivation of coffee and take a walk through the beautiful coffee plantations, covered by trees and other natives plants of the place,
product of the reforested area, after tasting a delicious cup of coffee, we visit the Oconal lagoon where we’ll enjoy a fun ride in canoes,
in the same place you can do bird watching (birdwatching): herons, gulls, cormorants and many other species of birds. Transfer to the
city center to see the main square, typical church, the giant coffee kettle and taste the world's finest coffee; in the afternoon we visit the
