One may pay with cash, check, MasterCard or Visa. PAYMENT IN FULL IS MANDATORY. All items in the silent auction have bid sheets affixed nearby. Persons desiring to bid must do so by printing their name or paddle number, and the amount of bid on the bid sheet. Minimum beginning bids are listed. Each increase in bid must equal or exceed the minimum stated on the bid sheet in order to constitute a valid bid. Each new bid must be written on the next blank line available on the bid sheet. Only authorized persons may nullify a bid. The silent auction booths will close at various intervals throughout the evening. Closing times are posted in the catalog and will be announced during the evening. The closing bid circled by a Rainbow Auction official constitutes the winning bid. In the event of a dispute, a Rainbow Auction official shall conduct a mini-oral auction between bidders. The highest bidder wins. Once a bid is made, the bidder must immediately uncover the bid card and step back to allow additional bids to be placed. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MAY THE AUCTION BID CARD BE REMOVED FROM THE BOOTH. Payment by the winning bidder is to be made the evening of the auction. One may pay with cash, check, MasterCard or Visa. PAYMENT IN FULL IS MANDATORY. A signature or oral bid constitutes a legal contract to buy. All sales are final, and there will be no exchanges or refunds on items except where specified. During the Oral Auction, bidders must hold up their bidding number to signify their bid. The Auctioneer will determine the highest acceptable bid. Each successful bidder must sign a receipt. At that time you should verify that the bid number, amount bid and the description are correct. Items may be removed that evening only by exhibiting a PAID receipt at the time of departure. Values set forth opposite items being auctioned are donors’ estimates and are not warranted by the Rainbow Auction for tax purposes or for general use. Some items may be “upgraded through the donor/supplier. All upgrades will be based on stated “retail” value of the item you will receive no credit for payments made at the Auction in excess of retail when seeking an upgrade. All Auction items must be removed by purchasers at their own expense from MCC at the end of the evening or the following day between the hours of 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. Contact 231-755-1000 to make other arrangements. The Muskegon Catholic Education Foundation makes no expressed or implied warranties on auction items other than those from the manufacturer which may be with the purchase. Due to the seasonal and market variability of airline fares, all oral auction items involving airline travel have a set dollar value listed. The purchaser of these items will receive a gift certificate from the Auction for stated value. Purchased trips are to be redeemed with the gift certificate from the Auction for the stated value. Gift certificate is to be redeemed through Pro Travel. There will be no cash refunds available for any part of the gift certificate value not used. Items purchased and not claimed by June 1, 2015 will become the property of the Rainbow Auction. REFUND POLICY All items auctioned are “as is” and may not be exchanged or refunded, unless stated in the description of the item. To attempt to return items or to exchange them for their retail value, only hurts the efforts of the Rainbow Auction in procurement attempts for next year. DONATION POLICY – IRS The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has asked non-profit organizations to inform buyers at charity auctions such as the Rainbow Auction that the value of a “buyers” donation is equal to the price paid for the item at the Auction less the “fair market value” of the item. 6% Sales Tax may be charged on auction items. 10 Silent Auction Check out these additional features! 6th Line Bid Frenzy – Another chance to be a winner! Any paddle number on the highlighted 6th line and all higher bids are automatically entered into a drawing to win $500! Good luck! SPONSORED BY: Guaranteed Purchase-Don’t want to bother with watching the bids on an item you really want? Add your paddle number to the Guaranteed Purchase amount and let one of the section workers know. It’s that easy! Note: Guaranteed Purchase is only available on select Silent Auction items. Meet Our Auctioneer! Michelle McKormick ‘82, started in radio in college at CMU and has been working on the air for 30 years - most of it in Grand Rapids. She spent 5 years doing a talk show for CBS Detroit as well as a talk show in New Jersey. She and Tony Gates were direct competitors for many years. Then three years ago they were put together to do mornings on 97-WLAV FM....they are still competing every morning, just in a different way! If you listen to the show you will understand. Michelle has done tons of charity work and lucky for us she is an experienced auctioneer, too. A BIG thank you to Michelle for being a part of our event! 11 SILENT AUCTION 12 S-100. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $16 Chandelier Earrings Paul & Beth ‘87 Price S-101. . . . . . . . . .
