Press information Muttis Kinder A Time to Dream – unreleased hits Show 8pm, Sunday 7pm Three young, up-and-coming artists who belong to the emergent Berlin scene present an extensive repertoire in their magical acappella programme, ranging from Lykke Li, Rihanna and Emiliana Torrini, and from the Swedish author Astrid Lindgren to Metallica. In “A Time to Dream – unreleased hits”, Claudia Graue, Marcus Melzwig and Christopher Nell are bringing to the stage a show full of acoustic surprise attacks, bringing together humour and improvisation with perfection; they take a foray into the world of pop and classic and hit the spot! Muttis Kinder (Engl. “Mummy’s Children”) are a wonderful brood who command that we follow their every musical uttering with joy and admiration. Let their music melt in your ears. And in your hearts. Their voices are not only there for singing; they also imitate drums and produce sound effects and alternate between lead and background with virtuosity - no wonder that this trio won the "Freiburger Leiter 2011" award for the best musical performance. At the International A-Cappella Competition in Graz in 2010, the young group won the audience and jury prize in the categories "Comedy" and "Pop" (extra performance). In addition to many performances in Europe, they were also invited to take part in the Taiwan International Contemporary A Cappella Festival in Taipeh. Mummy really would be proud of them ...! “The trio from Rostock win over their audience with sensitive chanson interpretations coupled with acting skill” Schweriner Zeitung More information at http://www.muttiskinder.com Ticket hotline 030-883 15 82 or reservierungen@bar-jeder-vernunft.de Tickets incl. all fees: Advanced booking: € 32.00 // Box office € 23.80 Concessions at the box office: €12.50 Press Office BAR JEDER VERNUNFT / TIPI AM KANZLERAMT Sabine Wenger M.A. – Tel. 030-390 665 65 – s.wenger@bar-jeder-vernunft.de Sandra Basenach – Tel. 030-390 665 66 – s.basenach@bar-jeder-vernunft.de www.bar-jeder-vernunft.de - www.tipi-am-kanzleramt.de Press reviews “... finely-tuned and in harmony, the three come across like a body sculpture made of three integrated parts ... together they produce a fantastic sound!” Inforadio “You'll be rolling in the aisles” Märkische Allgemeine “The trio from Rostock win over their audience with sensitive chanson interpretations coupled with acting skill” Schweriner Zeitung “Big kids with powerful voices” Allgäu Rundschau “Three top class voices in harmony” Flensburger Tagblatt “A Cappella sunrise” AZ “The high art of singing and drama” Appenzeller Zeitung “Top class comedy” Flying Pickets “My ears, mouth and heart remain open and all I have on my tongue after this performance is a Hallelujah.” Schaubudensommer Press Office BAR JEDER VERNUNFT / TIPI AM KANZLERAMT Sabine Wenger M.A. – Tel. 030-390 665 65 – s.wenger@bar-jeder-vernunft.de Sandra Basenach – Tel. 030-390 665 66 – s.basenach@bar-jeder-vernunft.de www.bar-jeder-vernunft.de - www.tipi-am-kanzleramt.de As per: 3. Guest performances, among others, at Alexandrinski Theater in St. Petersburg, Staatstheater in Schwerin, Kleist Forum (Frankfurt/ Oder), Volkstheater in Rostock, Bad Hersfeld. Roles, among others: Katie in Katie of Heilbronn (Director: Johanna Schall) / Lola in Lola Blau (Director: Peter Baumgardt / Alice in Alice in Wonderland (Director: Johanna Schall) / Antigone in Antigone (Director: Nils Brück) Marcus about Claudia Issi (Intimate, Sexually Stimulating Idealist). Behind everything there is something big. And she’ll reveal it to you. Men, try and control yourself. Women, forget it! It’s senseless. Fly, little black Issi! Fly!“ Christopher about Claudia “Our baby in the family and female component attacks her attentive listeners with tempestuous vocal storms, which include whistling breezes and sudden flashes of lightning, as well as sonorous rolls of thunder, followed by soothingly melodic rainfall that is like healing ambrosia for the soul. I find it difficult to speak of her paternal origins here – her bodily agility and the fact that she can survive for a long time in trash appear to be genetic remnants. Oh you Berlin brat, our sopranella, let the elements rampage!” Vita_Christopher Nell Christopher Nell, born in 1979 in Kaufbeuren, studied at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre. Roles (among others): Robert the Saw in The Threepenny Opera (Director: Robert Wilson), Hänschen Rilow, Gaston in Spring Awakening (Claus Peymann), First notary in La Périchole (Director: Thomas SchulteMichels), Romeo in Romeo and Juliet (Director: Mona Kraushaar) , Lady/ Eve in Shakespeare’s Sonnets (Director: Robert Wilson, Music: Rufus Wainwright). Roles at the Staatstheater in Schwerin, Volkstheater in Rostock and at the Berliner Ensemble. Claudia about Christopher “His cloak flutters in the storm of music. Wugu. The action hero among the children. When his signal rings out he is unstoppable. Marcus about Christopher “The sensitive, potent, charismatic Wugu (wild and genius) belongs to the category ‘high singer’ in the group with his Bavarian-maritime ways. His high tones are both a melodious and destructive act of love.” Vita_Marcus Melzwig Marcus Melzwig, born in 1979 in Leipzig, studied violin at the J.S. Bach Music School in Leipzig, trained as a doctor’s assistant, then studied acting at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre. Roles (among others): Roy Black, Jürgen Marcus, Udo Jürgens, Roland Kayser (and others) in “b.a.r. Hit Parade” in Oberhausen (Director: Martin Müller-Reisinger, Patrick Wengen Roth, Lilo Wanders, and others), Branko in The Outsiders of Uskoken Castle (Director: Thomas Hollaender), Detective Fix – in 80 Days Around the World (Director: Philipe Besson), Poseidon in An Odyssey (Director: Axel Richter). Claudia about Marcus “A man. Like a hammer. When he exhales, this causes not only the cymbals to vibrate. Issa. Her pulse. A column of life, air and lips. Not a man to touch lightly. Anyone who comes too close is taking a risk. Build your houses out of straw, wood, stone. He'll puff them all down. He is the wolf. He’ll blow you away.” Christopher about Marcus: "The oldest of us identical triplets massages your and our tensed up eardrums with his mutated thick-walled vocal folds, during which he uses his long-limbed, hand-like extremities to maltreat the air as if it consisted of trillions of fine strings just waiting to be plucked. As the only known son of Flipper the Dolphin (every kid's favourite), he understandably had some initial difficulties following in the flipper-steps of his father - may he now succeed in his great vocal breakthrough as one of Mummy's Children - we shall see!"
