Stroll through the Old Town, visit the cathedral, you will marvel at the monumental city palace from the 17th and 18th century, and the medieval Bayeux tapestry at the Musée de la tapestry with the story of the Battle of Hastings. 2. day Trip to the landing beaches, app. 50 km This tour takes you to the landing beaches or D-Day Beaches, the location of the Allied invasion in 1944. Only in Courseulles-sur-mer you leave the coast and cycle through meadows, fields and orchards deeds inland to Caen, the capital of the Calvados. Enjoy a break in the famous spa resort Deauville with its wide white sand beach. Wonderfully elegant along the flowers the coast, you cacle to Honfleur at the mouth of the Seine. Here you will feel very comfortable, surrounded by a picturesque harbor and remarkable houses of the 17th century. Not for nothing Honfleur is one of the most charming places of Normandy. 6. day Honfleur - Caudebec-en-Caux/surrounding area app. 45 km Today you follow the Seine through scenic woodlands and landscapes of the nature reserve Boucles-de-la-Seine. Enjoy the small town Caudebec-en-Caux, which is situated romantic at the river banks of Seine and proudly presents its outstanding church from the 15th century with magnificent west door, ornate spiers and intricate stained glass windows. 7. day Caudebec-en-Caux - Rouen, app. 50km Dive right into the lovely landscape of the Sein river loops. Cycle through small, sleepy river villages along lush gardens and colorful orchards. Marvel at the historical remains of the once powerful monastery of Normandy and visit the Romanesque abbey church of St. Georges. Rouen, the city in the Seine loop has a long tradition as a seaport. Today the old quays on the banks are very popular as a promenade. With its magnificent timber-framed buildings, the narrow cobbled streets and Gothic cathedral Rouen is more like an open air museum as a port city. 8. day Rouen Departure We would be happy to book you one extra night in Rouen, the lovely French town of art and history. Bayeux train station is about 1 km from the start hotel. A taxi from the train station to the hotel costs about 8 euros. From Rouen you can travel back to Bayeux in about 2 hours by train with changing the train in Caen.train shedule information Parking facilities at the hotel Free parking is available near the hotel. No reservation possible and necesesary. You will receive detailed information about the parking facilities at the booked hotel booked with the detailed travel documents at the latest two weeks before departure. Welcome meeting On the day of arrival, a staff member will be waiting for you at about 6:00 pm for an information talk. Here any bicycles that may be booked are also handed over. Condition of cycle paths The cycle routes are mostly flat, there are to overcome some short but simple increases. You will cycle main on asphalted or cobblestone roads, sometimes on small side roads.
