CEO UPDATE
Including NDs in Health Care Reform: What AANP is
Doing and What You Can Do
Finally I can start answering the phone again. It turns out that living in a swing state Virginia in my case - makes you very popular around election time, so popular in fact that
my phone was ringing non-stop and someone was always knocking on my door telling me
who I needed to vote for. Regardless of who you supported in the election, there is little
doubt that the results will affect the delivery of health care in our country. With President

STATE LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
State Associations Prepare for the 2013 Session
On the most recent webinar of AANP's State Legislative Alliance, six states reported on their
plans for 2013. While these reports represent only a fraction of the activity planned for 2013,
they demonstrate the thoughtfulness and sophistication of state leaders. Read more

2013 AANP Conference Blog: Colorado Att(Alt)itude
Jacob Schor, ND, FABNO, AANP Conference Speaker Selection Committee Chair, explains
the Coloradan attitude, altitude and culture. The naturopathic physicians in Colorado are
looking forward to hosting you in their home state July 2013.
In preparation for the AANP Conference in Keystone in 2013, I am
obligated to tell you a few things about Colorado. Here, in Colorado, we
often interchange two words: altitude and attitude. Both seem to inform our
worldview to equal measure. I've been trying to get a grip on this perception
of things for the 21 years my wife and I have lived here. First off, it is really
all about altitude. Denver is, literally, a mile-high city. Halfway up the
staircase that leads to the Capitol Building is an elevation marker: 5,280
feet above sea level. Click here to read the full blog.

New Changes to the Insurance Industry that Affect NDs in
Montana Join us for a webinar on Dec 06, 2012, at 5:30 PM MST. This is an extremely
important presentation by Dr. Jeff Roush of Helena MT (Chair of the MANP Legislative
Committee). Learn about all of the changes happening in Montana related to the Affordable
Care Act, Medicare, private insurance, and so forth. This education is important for
positioning ourselves and our patients during insurance reform. This information affects how
your patients will access naturopathic medicine and how NDs do business in the near future.
