Here, close to Duesseldorf Main Station, on what is at present still an empty site, the company is to erect a five storey-building, providing about 5,100 sqm of floor space for offices and retail outlets. The design for the MK6 project is by the Duesseldorf architects FFNS and Giese·Bohne. It was selected in a contest last year in which six renowned architects’ offices participated. HOCHTIEF HTP Projektentwicklung GmbH - the company’s project development subsidiary - acquired the 1,700 sqm piece of land from the city in 1996. The IHZ Park is one of the last remaining large housing and office sites in the inner-city area. „The closeness to the train station, the good transport connections - underground railways and bus services - and also its high-grade residential and leisure features make the MK6 project particularly attractive for many investors“, says Dr. Frank Billand, CEO of HOCHTIEF HTP Projektentwicklung. He pointed to the other housing in the area of the IHZ Park and the nearby shopping facilities and restaurants as factors already assuring urban-style living quality.
