„Karate Kid auf Schnee“ schrieb die norwegische Presse
über „Switch“: Liebe und Eifersucht unter jungen Snowboard-Cracks sorgen für Action auf der Piste. Mikkel ist 17
und neu in Voss, einem kleinen, verschneiten Ort an der norwegischen Westküste. In Oslo ist Mikkel viel mit dem Skateboard
gefahren, aber bei den neuen Mitschülern zählt allein, was einer
auf dem Snowboard bringt. Doch vielleicht hätten sie über Mikkels anfängliche Blamagen hinweggesehen, hätte der sich nicht
in Nina verliebt. Nina ist die Freundin von Gaute, dem bewunderten Snowboard-Champion und gefürchteten Schultyrannen.
Nachdem Nina den neuen Mitschüler sogar einmal geküsst hat,
wird Mikkel zur Zielscheibe eines echt heftigen Gruppenhasses.
Nur Tommen, ein alter Hippie und begnadeter Snowboarder, hält
noch zu Mikkel. Und er rät ihm, sich an Gaute dort zu rächen, wo
es dem wirklich weh tut: bei den Snowboard-Meisterschaften … In
der Presse als „Karate Kid auf Schnee“ gefeiert, überzeugt „Switch“
durch waghalsige Sprünge und lässige Stunts. Ein weiteres belebendes Element in diesem filmischen Energy Drink ist Peter Stormare („Wolf“) als cooler Philosoph auf dem Snowboard.

Regisseur Ole Martin Hafsmo hat bislang bei diversen norwegischen Fernsehproduktionen Regie geführt, darunter auch bei Folgen der populären Comedy-Serien „Typisk norsk“ und „Uti vår hage“. „Switch“
ist sein erster Spielfilm.

“Karate Kid, set in the snow” was how the Scandinavian press described “Switch”: love and jealousy amongst
young snowboarding cracks keep the action coming on the
piste. Mikkel is 17 years old and new in Voss, a small snowed-in
place on the Norwegian west coast. In Oslo, Mikkel used to go
skateboarding a lot, but his new classmates are only interested
in what anyone can muster on a snowboard. They might have
turned a blind eye to his initial foolish attempts, had he not fallen in love with Nina. Nina is the girlfriend of Gaute, the much-admired local snowboarding champion and simultaneously feared
school bully. After Nina even kisses the new boy on one occasion, Mikkel becomes the target of group hatred. Only Tommen,
an old hippie and gifted snowboarder sticks by him. And he advises Mikkel to hit Gaute where it hurts most: the snowboarding
championship ... Celebrated by the Scandinavian press as “Karate Kid, set in the snow”, “Switch” is full of daring jumps and
audacious stunts. A particularly stimulating ingredient in this
filmic energy drink is Peter Stormare (“Wolf”) as a cool, snowboarding philosopher.
