Sartorius Stat-Pen YSTP01
Purpose
Stat-Pen is an anti-static device that uses positive and negative
ions to neutralize electrostatic charges, called static electricity.
When Stat-Pen is activated, it neutralizes all static electricity
toward which the probe is pointed.
Operation
Stat-Pen consists of a neutralizing probe that is connected to a
power supply unit. The power supply unit has an On/Off switch on
the top. When the switch is on, the power supply unit is in the
standby mode. In addition, two red LEDs light up when the power
is on. The probe itself looks like a pen that you hold in your
hand..
Point the probe toward the object on which you want to
neutralize static electricity, and press the microswitch on the probe
to activate it. You should hold the probe preferably at a distance
of 30 – 50 mm from the object before you activate the
microswitch. When the probe is activated, it starts neutralizing at
once. You can also see that it is activated just by looking at the
two LEDs. When the probe is activated, the LEDs are brighter. As
soon as you release the microswitch on the probe, the power
supply unit returns to the standby mode and the probe is
discharged automatically. When the probe is not in use, it should
be kept in the holder on the side of the power supply unit.
The graph shows the speed of neutralization as a function of the
distance of the probe from an object. The time given in seconds is
the time it takes Stat-Pen to reduce the charge on the object to
be weighed from 1,000 volts to 100 volts.

Zweck
Der Stat-Pen ist ein Antistatik-Gerät, das elektrostatische
Aufladungen mit positiven und negativen Ionen neutralisiert. Bei
aktiv geschaltetem Stat-Pen werden sämtliche elektrostatischen
Aufladungen neutralisiert, gegen die die Sonde gerichtet ist.
Betrieb
Der Stat-Pen besteht aus einer Neutralisationssonde, die mit
einem Netzgerät verbunden ist. Das Netzgerät ist mit einem Ein/
Aus-Schalter auf der oberen Geräteseite versehen. Bei
eingeschaltetem Gerät befindet sich das Netzgerät im Stand-by
Betrieb. Zwei rote Leuchtdioden auf dem Netzgerät leuchten bei
eingeschaltetem Gerät auf. Die Sonde selbst sieht wie ein Stift aus,
den man in der Hand hält.
Die Sonde auf das zu neutralisierende Objekt richten und den
Mikroschalter betätigen zum Aktivieren. Dabei sollte die Sonde
vorzugsweise 30 – 50 mm vom Objekt entfernt gehalten werden,
bevor der Mikroschalter betätigt wird. Sobald die Sonde aktiviert
ist, neutralisiert er die elektrostatischen Aufladungen sofort.
Anhand der zwei Leuchtdioden können Sie erkennen, ob der Stift
aktiviert ist. Bei aktivem Betrieb leuchten die Dioden heller.
Sobald Sie den Mikroschalter an der Sonde loslassen, kehrt das
Netzgerät in den Stand-by Betrieb und die Sonde wird
automatisch entladen. Bei Nichtgebrauch die Sonde in der
Halterung seitlich am Netzgerät aufbewahren.
Das Diagramm zeigt die Geschwindigkeit für die Neutralisation in
Abhängigkeit zum Abstand der Sonde. Es wird die erforderliche
Zeit dargestellt zur Entladung des Wägegutes von 1.000 Volt auf
100 Volt.
