LEED & DGNB
 The most common sustainability code used in
Vietnam has been LEED, and secondarily
Lotus. Other codes such as GreenMark (Sing),
GreenStar (Aust), BREEAM (UK), and now
DGNB are also used.
 LEED could be said to focus on leadership in
energy and environmental design!
 DGNB has a broader scope including a
stronger focus on delivery (as per the latest
version of LEED), including commissioning,
and incorporates considerable social aspects.
 LEED is easier, no doubt about that…. both
together is more interesting.
DEUTSCHES HAUS ESD FEATURES
 Dual Skin Facade
 LED Lighting & control
 Air conditioning system
 Building automation – integrated
 Energy efficient components
 Water efficient systems and sanitary/tapware

Implications for building
occupants
 The dual façade should allow high quality
views, without diminishing energy efficiency.
 The building systems should provide a
healthier environment for the occupants, and a
higher quality working environment.
 The service charge mix should alter with a
reduced electricity cost allowing either a higher
quality of service or a reduction in service
charge.
