From the Chairman's Desk
! e "rst few years are the baby years. Now, as we enter our "fth year, yet second at this new
campus, we are excited about what the students, their parents and guardians and we, are going
to share throughout the year. Since we are a professional college, we remain focused on leading
our young adults along the pathway that will assemble them into professionals; ready to make
their mark in the world.
We are constantly inspired by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore˚s lines, # Where the mind
is led forward$ %! ese lines were written during our country˚s struggle for independence and
was a heartfelt cry to Indians to believe in God and in themselves, in other words, freedom.
Hearing the lines recited gave boldness and fearlessness to young Indians to bravely challenge
the rule and domination of the British over us.
Similarly, today we have many in&uences, many not so good ones, on our young adults. Let
the minds of all DMEians be led forward on the path of honesty, compassion towards all,
loyalty to the institution and family, and above all, to the cause of an energetic and vibrant
India; of which all our DMEians will become proud young citizens.

Management

DME has partnered with Spic Macay and will be the nodal centre for all
activities of Spic Macay in Noida.
SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And
Culture Amongst Youth) is a voluntary movement founded in 1977 by Dr
Kiran Seth, a Professor at IIT-Delhi who was awarded the ‘Padma Shri’ for
his contribution to the arts in 2009.
SPICMACAY’s intention is to enrich the quality of formal education by
increasing awareness about different aspects of Indian heritage and
inspiring the young mind to imbibe the values embedded in it. It seeks to
inspire youth through experiencing the mysticism embodied in the rich and
heterogeneous cultural tapestry of Indian and World Heritage, with a hope
that the beauty, grace, values and wisdom embodied in these arts will
influence their way of life and thinking and inspire one to become a better
human being. For this, the most accomplished artistes of the country
render programmes of Indian classical music and dance, folk, poetry,
theatre, traditional paintings, crafts and yog primarily in schools and
colleges. In 2011, SPIC MACAY was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana
award in recognition of its contribution to youth development.
