New trend variety DeBeukelaer ChocOlé Delicate Caramel
will ensure increased sales on the biscuit shelf
Third variety of the successful biscuit sticks: GdB uses caramel in chocolate
form for the first time
Polch, 25 February 2015. – From March, Griesson - de Beukelaer (GdB) is
expanding its successful DeBeukelaer ChocOlé range from a successful duo to a
varied trio. For the new variety ChocOlé Delicate Caramel (75 gm) GdB is dunking
the twisted, crunchy biscuit sticks into delicate caramel chocolate and thus enriching
the market with a unique combination that is sure to go down well at social gettogethers in particular. The successful variety from the biscuit shelf is perfectly
tailored to the younger target group, and will extend the variety available and attract
the attention of new customers.
With its new variety of the popular nibbles, GdB is using the trend flavour caramel for
the first time in chocolate form. ChocOlé Delicate Caramel will supplement the
existing milk chocolate and dark chocolate varieties to create a successful trio: the
two varieties introduced in 2013 displayed excellent growth last year. ChocOlé milk
chocolate did 13 percent better than the market level, and the dark chocolate variety
was even 29 percent higher (Source: IRI, food retailers in total including drugstores,
index in percent, ChocOlé Dark Chocolate + Milk Chocolate, July 2014).
GdB buys the chocolate for DeBeukelaer biscuits from 100% UTZ Certified cocoa,
which is grown and harvested in a socially, ecologically and economically sustainable
way. Together with UTZ Certified, GdB contributed to enabling the cocoa farmers to
work more successfully under better living conditions. In return they receive support
in terms of environmental management, working conditions and business
