Press Release - Aerospace embedded solutions
Press Release Operational start of ESSEI Munich, 31.03.2014 – Aerospace Embedded Solutions GmbH (AES), as one of the foundation members is proud to announce the operational start of the Embedded Systems Software Engineering Institute (ESSEI). At the initiative of the technical software committee of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtindustrie e.V. (BDLI), the companies AES, Diehl Aerospace, Liebherr Aerospace and MTU Aero Engines created the ESSEI. Beside the foundation members, there are four founding partners and two scientific institutions who take an active part in the ESSEI. The Institute is funded by the Bayerische Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft und Medien, Energie und Technologie. On the organizational site, ESSEI is incorporated in fortiss (an associated institute of the TU Munich). Software in avionic systems is one of the main innovation driver and a determining competitive factor in the aerospace segment. Embedded Software makes an outstanding contribution to the safety operations as well as the quality of air- and spacecrafts. With the ESSEI we would like to sustain the existing competences and continuously develop and strengthen them. The main objective of the ESSEI is the further development of proceedings, techniques and tools for the software programming in the aerospace segment. The field of actions can be separated in three areas: First the coordination between industry, science and research, second the work on industry and research projects and last but not least the retrieval and sponsoring of new talents as well as the functional enhancement of engineers and specialists. “The Software competence which is bundled in the industry-research platform ESSEI is probably unique in the world” explains Rainer von Borstel, member of the BDLI-executive committee and Diehl directorate for aviation. He underlines the achieved cooperation of the ESSEI and the involved organizations as well as the synergy effects which go along with it: “We expect a distinct reduction of the development cycles with a simultaneously increase of the quality level. This is an important factor of success for all German companies involved facing the increasingly though international competition.” AES Aerospace Embedded Solutions GmbH Dachauer Straße 665 80995 München Deutschland Tel. +49 89 99 82 72 - 0 Fax +49 89 99 82 72 – 6900 www.aesolutions.de Seite 1 Press Release Dietmar Schrick, Managing Director of the BDLI states: “I very much welcome the foundation of the Institute which is so important for our industry. It should be highlighted, that industry, research and science pursue common goals. This guarantees an efficient transfer of the results into practice – and that’s essential.” For further information on ESSEI, its field of work, actual projects or career opportunities please click here: www.fortiss.org/essei About AES Aerospace Embedded Solutions GmbH Aerospace Embedded Solutions GmbH (AES) is a 50/50 Joint Venture between MTU Aero Engines and Sagem (Safran) and started it’s operation in January 2013.
