EPC-A-1 Emergency Power Relay
EPC-A-1 Emergency Power Relay TM “Extreme Reliability” Lighting Control Systems Description: The EPC-A-1 Emergency Power Controller is used for controlling emergency lighting loads. Both Main power and Emergency power is connected to the device and an internal sensing circuit will sense when the main power is interrupted. During a power interruption, this sensing circuit causes the internal relay to drop into a Normally Closed position and turns on the emergency lighting power. The EPC-A-1 is equipped with a green LED, which indicates if regular utility power is available and field sensing wiring is connected correctly. Automatic Diagnostic Feature: This device may be placed above an accessible ceiling tile because the unit does not require an accessible test switch to test the device. When the room switch is turned off, the emergency luminaires stay on for 2.5 seconds indicating that an emergency power source was available and that the EPC-A-1, ballast, and lamps are all functioning properly. This feature replaces the need for a test switch on the unit.
