Achtung: Keine Bremsflüssigkeit im Lieferumfang enthalten!
Hinweise zur Montage:
Es sind umfangreiche arbeiten an der Bremsanlage erforderlich!
Sollten Sie sich diese nicht zutrauen, lassen Sie den Umbau bitte in
einer Fachwerkstatt durchführen. Andernfalls bitte zumindest in
einer Fachwerkstatt überprüfen lassen.
Vorbereitung:
Die Demontage der rechten Seitenverkleidung erleichtert die Zugänglichkeit und damit auch die
Montage.
Entleeren Sie bitte das Bremsleitungssystem der Vorderradbremse, so dass Sie im Anschluss die
Verbindungsbremsleitung des rechten und linken Bremssattels demontieren können.
Beachten Sie hierbei die Gefahrenhinweise im Umgang mit Bremsflüssigkeit.
Nachdem die Verbindungsbremsleitung demontiert ist, schrauben Sie jetzt bitte den originalen,
niedrigen Kotflügel ab. Dieser wird von insgesamt sechs Schrauben an den beiden Gabelfäusten
gehalten (Bild 1). Jeweils ein weiteres Gewinde am Gabelfaust wird von einer Kunststoffabdeckung kaschiert. Diese Gewinde werden für die spätere Befestigung der Gabelprotektoren
benötigt und müssen frei gelegt werden.
Des weiteren muss die Führung der verbleibenden originalen Bremsleitung an der unteren
Gabelbrücke gelöst werden (Bild 2).
Achtung, sie benötigen für die nachfolgende Montage der Gabelprotektoren sechs, dieser bisher
gelösten Schrauben!

Montage
1.) Montieren Sie nun die Stahlflexbremsleitung. Beachten Sie
dabei die Herstellerangaben und achten Sie bitte darauf, dass
die Bremsleitung zunächst in einem Bogen am Lenker verlaufen
muss und dann parallel am rechten Gabelholm runter direkt
zum rechten Bremssattel geführt wird (Bild 3). Sollte dies ohne
ein Verdrillen der Bremsleitung nicht möglich sein, korrigieren Sie
bitte die Lage der Anschlüsse zueinander. Verwenden Sie bitte
die originalen Anschlussschrauben (Positionen entsprechend
getauscht) mit den neuen Dichtringen.
2.) Montieren Sie die beiden Gabelprotektoren. Diese werde
mittels den beiden Adapterringen mit je zwei Distanzplatten (je
2x Schrauben Linsenkopf M6x16 und 1x M6x12) und sechs
originalen Schrauben an den Gabelfäusten befestigt (Bild 4).
3.) Montieren Sie mittels der Rohrschelle das obere Halteblech
am rechten Gableholm direkt unter der oberen Gabelbrücke.
Das untere Halteblech auf der unteren Gabelbrücke
verschrauben (Schrauben Innensechskant M6x12) .
Die Kunststoffbremsleitungsführungen leicht aufbiegen (Bild 3a)
und Über die Bremsleitung schieben.Anschliessend die
Führungen in die Haltebleche drücken(Bild 3a).An den
Halteblechen mit je 2 M3 Linsenkopfschrauben und je 2 Muttern
verschrauben.Die Bremsleitung auch auf dem jeweiligen
Gabelprotektor fixieren (Bild 3).
4.) Entlüften Sie das gesamte vordere Bremssystem vollständig.
Verwenden Sie hierfür nur von KTM zugelassene Bremsflüssigkeit.
5.) Der neue Kotflügel wird mit vier Buchsen und Schrauben
Innensechskant M6x25 an der unteren Gabelbrücke befestigt.
Die Führung der linken Bremsleitung wird dabei, zwischen
Gabelbrücke und Kotflügel, ebenfalls mit befestigt (Bild 5).
6.) Montieren Sie als letztes das Verkleidungsseitenteil wieder
und überprüfen die Bremse.

Hinweis:
Bitte führen Sie Ihr Fahrzeug nach erfolgtem Umbau einem TÜV /
DEKRA - Sachverständigen vor. Die geänderte Bremsleitung ist
Eintragungspflichtig (Gutachten anbei).
Des weiteren empfehlen wir den neuen Kotflügel ebenfalls
eintragen zu lassen. Dies kann auf Grundlage des §19 StVZO
geschehen (bei dem Kotflügel handelt es sich um einen
originalen KTM-Kotflügel).

Installation Instructions
KTM Lc8 High Fender

NOTE: Brake fluid is not included in this package!
Attention:
This installation requires work on the brake system including brake
bleeding. Do not attempt installation if you do not feel confident
in completing the installation correctly. In this case have your
dealer or an experienced mechanic do the installation or at least
check it for you.
The removal of the right side fairing helps to gain acces for the installation.
Drain the front brake fluid in order to remove the brake lines.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO SPILL VERY CORROSIVE BRAKE FLUID ON YOUR BIKE!
After removing the connecting brake line between the calipers unscrew and remove the original
fender. The fender is attached with three screws on each fork leg as well as left side brake
line/speedo cable holder. Pic. 1.
Each fork leg has another screw hole with a plastic insert that will later be used for attaching the
the fork protectors. Remove this plug. You may need to use a reverse drill bit. This is tedious work
but be careful not to damage the bolt hole threads.
Now also loosen the original brake line guides under the fork bridge. Pic. 2.
NOTE: To later install the fork protectors you need six of the original screws and two screws holding
the brake line/speedo cable.

KTM Lc8 High Fender
1. Slide the two brake line guides thru the new brake line and
tighten the nuts. Guides can also be installed at later point.

2. Install the steel brake line. Make sure the brake line is installed
like the original making one bend at the handlebar and then
goes straight along right fork leg to the right brake caliper.
NOTE: Installing the supplied longer brake line on the left side
and shorter orig. left side line on the right side is a better fit on
the shorter suspension travel non-S model LC8.

Make sure the brake line does not have any twists by possibly
adjusting the attachments. Use the original banjo bolts with
new seals. NOTE: You need to use the longer banjo bolt from
below to attach the two brake lines at handlebar and use the
original shorter banjo bolt from the handlebar down below.
3. Install the fork protectors by using the two C-shaped adapter
brackets. Note that left and rigth are different. Pic. 7
Set two spacer plates on each fork (7B) and attach the
adapter brackets (7A) with two dome head screws M6x16
screws up front and one screw dome head M6x12 on the
side on each fork leg. (Use two washers as spacers behind
the right side fork guard rear hole along with M6x12 screw).
Install the fork protectors on the adapter brackets with three
stock screws on each side. Little pre-bending or slight heat
helps with the stiff plastic guards when aligning holes.
4. Install the the top brake line guide/support with the pipe
clamp on the top and with the guide/support bracket
(M6x12 Countersunk screws) on the bottom. Pic. 3.
Secure the right brake line on the right fork protector with
supplied black plastic clamps (4A), dome head screws (insert
from the back), washers and nylock nuts on the front.
Use the stock screws for left side speedo/brake line support
cap.
5. Bleed the complete front brake system and use only KTM
approved brake fluid.
6. Install the the new fender with four sockets and countersunk
screws M6x25 under the fork bridge. Attach also the orig.
brake line guide for the left brake line and speedo cable
between the fork bridge and the fender. Pic. 5.

German TUV approval is required for the second brake line and high fender after
installation for street use in Germany.
