The Precious Cheese Feast of San Gennaro LA
Celebrating Italian food, music, culture, rides & games. All proceeds benefit the San Gennaro Foundation,
a non-profit organization established to aid children and families in need in Los Angeles.
About the
Feast
In September of 2002, some of Los Angeles’ most prominent Italian-American citizens,
got together and produced the first annual Precious Cheese Feast of San Gennaro,
Los Angeles. Now in its’ eighth year, the event will take place on September 25-27,
2009 and is being hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla. The Feast offers three
days of enjoyment for the entire family. Prima Notte, the opening night gala that
raises funds for underprivileged children and families in Los Angeles, will take
place on September 24th.
Just like the 80-year old New York City tradition, the Precious Cheese Feast of San
Gennaro, Los Angeles, celebrates Italian culture, food and entertainment, featuring live
music, street performers, strolling musicians, a kid’s corner, rides and games. In
addition to enjoying wine from local wineries and food from some of Los Angeles’ best
Italian restaurants, guests learn recipes at the cooking stage and play bocce ball and
bingo with some of Hollywood’s Italian-American celebrities and much more!

About the
Foundation
The mission of The San Gennaro Foundation is to uphold the principles that were
established by St. Gennaro, patron saint of Naples, Italy, who worked tirelessly to help
people in need. In addition to raising necessary funds, the group seeks to perpetuate
cultural identity and solidarity within the Italian-American community and to propagate unity
and cooperation among Italian Americans. All events put on by the Foundation are
intended to embody the attributes of generosity and goodwill that define the Italian spirit.
All proceeds from the Precious Cheese Feast of San Gennaro Los Angeles benefit the
Foundation, which was established as a non-profit organization to aid children and families
in need in the Los Angeles area. In 2007, due to the generosity of our community and
the hard work of our volunteers, we were able to donate close to $200,000 in funds
and benefits to assist local charities and perpetuate the Italian culture, such as:
homeless feeding programs, children and family shelters, adopting school programs,
financial assistance and emotional support for underprivileged youth, scholarships to
exceptional students in need of financial assistance and various Italian cultural groups and
activities.
