We have made improvements in the production version, like a more realistic engine crankcase dummy and a more scale like exhaust manifold. 3 4 5 6 7 16 80° 80° 16 Sandpaper the front of the nose bow frame at an angle matching the contour of the fiberglass part of the cowl bottom, allowing the cowl bottom to be fitted as far back as possible. 8 Mount the fiberglass part of the cowl bottom to the structure as far back as possible. 9 10 “I made the cutouts with a jigsaw with a fine No.1 sawblade and a very fine X-Acto saw for the straight cuts. It is a bit tricky, but it can be done as you see from the example. The top rear screw has to be glued in with Epoxi. By making the cutout this way right through the hole, the unavoidable “crack” in the crankcase is mostly hidden behind the nut and washer. The rubber house on the suction tube on the engine has to be pushed inwards a little bit, then the cutout in the cowl for the suction tube does not need to be so big and it is almost invisible because of the rubber house behind it. If someone does not want to do this he can simply enlarge the cutout in the cowl. The strips must be one for each rib that you need. 3. Allign a bracing strip to side and trace the referring lines. 4. Saw a complete set of bracing strips. 26 You can use also a disk saw with angle regulation. 5. Refine the angle with sandpaper. 6. Note: If you decide to glue together the spars like shown in the previous page, make absolutely sure to completely insert the spar webbing into the spars! Alternatively, you may assemble the wing before gluing the spars to the webbing, placing all the ribs over the spars and dry fitting the structure over the wing plan on the building board. Then, when all is adjusted, make all the gluing joints with plenty of extra thin Cyano. 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 Mounting sequence on the flying field 1 Mount the cabane on the fuselage. Release the front fastening of the windscreen. 2 Insert the forks of the wings on the fuselage tubes, placing the wing ends on the ground. 3 Mount the landing wires using the steel clevises. DO NOT FORGET to push the security rings firmly against the head of the clevises! 50 4 Place the center bracket on the step of the cabane. WARNING: In this condition absolutely don’t move the wing up or down, the fuselage may be damaged! If there is strong wind, get help from a friend or place a supports under each wing. 5 Mount all the flying wires. DO NOT FORGET to push the security rings firmly against the head of the clevises! 6 Lift the center bracket on the vertex of the cabane and lock it securely in place with a M4 screw. Note: Of course, before assembling the model on the flying field, all wires must be perfectly adjusted and all clevises must be blocked by nuts. We recommend to make all the adjustments before covering the model.
