For a craftsman here in Bradford, Pennsylvania,
honing his art isn’t a job, it’s a passion.

to design—and then introduce—a new tang stamp. Long a source of
pride and authenticity, these stamps tell the history of knife-making in
a few letters, x’s and dots. Which is why we’re so pleased to share the new
2010 tang stamp. Featuring the classic “Long Tail C” and the very best

How to Identify an Authentic Case Knife
Anatomy of a Case Knife
Hand-crafting a Case knife is an exercise in skill, love and, most importantly,
patience. Roughly 160 steps go into the creation of each individual knife, from the
handle to the blade to everything in between. To us, the process is just as important
as using the finest components in the world, like rich, natural handle materials,
premium-quality steel, select brass and superior nickel silver.
AUTHENTIC CASE COLLECTABLES
We put the “Long Tail C” only on a
serial-numbered, collectable product
manufactured and sold by Case.
This logo assures you the collectable
item is authorized by Case.
IDENTIFY CASE KNIFE PATTERNS
The number stamped on the tang of one blade of
every Case knife identifies the pattern. The first
number is the handle material, the second number
is the number of blades, and the third is the factory
pattern number.

DETERMINE THE YEAR OF A CASE KNIFE
By learning the simple Case Dating System,
you can easily determine the year a Case
knife was manufactured.

form of the “s” in “Case” and “USA” and the

than chrome vanadium blades, since this

Graphic Kit
The ultimate in flexible knife merchandising.
Case’s new magnetic display panels are a great alternative to traditional vacuum
form and wired-on displays. YOU choose the knives that go in them…and change
them out as often as you wish! Panels available in tan, red or black to fit any
of our displays. A 30-piece magnet kit secures 10 knives, enough for any of our
half-panel assortments. For a Floor Display, order 5 kits. Graphic stickers are also
available to dress up the look of your display, and help those Case knives fly off
the shelf.
Some knife assortments are still being offered in the traditional vacuum form
panel, and they are noted in the panel listing. If you want to order one of these
assortments and substitute the magnetic panel, just add the magnetic panel
that fits your display to the order. For any questions, please check with the
Case National Sales Office.

Factory imprinting techniques
Electro-Etch Item #297
Electronic transfer onto a metal surface. This is a surface imprint
on blades or metal handles. It is semi-permanent.
Engraving on Metal Surfaces Item #298
Computerized engraving gives a rich jewelry-engraving look. It is permanent.
Laser Engraving Item #294
Imprint available on smooth bone, smooth synthetic, smooth wood and
certain leather sheaths.
Tech Print Item #267 one color, #268 two color
Photo emulsion of paint onto blades, metal handles and tin lids only.
Close registration and color on top of color ability. Up to two (2) colors
per surface. This is a semi-permanent process.
Color Fill Item #289
One color added to laser engraving. Process is only available on
smooth bone, synthetic and wood. (Color fill options: gold, white,
silver, black, red, yellow, blue and green.)

Minimum Order Requirements for Imprinting: Twenty-five (25) units per item.
Sample Policy: Random samples are available for purchase upon request.
Preproduction samples for approval are available upon request and will be
considered part of the order. There will be an additional art charge for any change
in artwork after a pre-production sample is produced.
Cancellation Charges: Orders cancelled during production will be charged for
work completed at the time of cancellation. (Including artwork/setup fees.)

Sales Tax: State and local sales tax will be charged on each order based upon the
tax rates or the shipping address. No sales tax will be charged if sales tax exemption
certificate is supplied.
Logo Set-Up Charge: There will be an initial fee for artwork/logo set-up. If artwork
creation and/or modifications are requested, the set-up cost must be quoted on an
individual bases. Artwork will remain on file at Case Cutlery for a three-year time
period. There is no set-up charge for straight-line type.
Returns: All merchandise is sold on a final sales basis. If products are being
considered on programs requiring a return privilege, a specific written agreement
must be obtained from Case Cutlery. No returns possible on imprinted items.
Artwork Guidelines: Artwork should be submitted in one of the following formats:
Digital Vector File: Saved as an EPS, AI or CDR file.
Digital Raster or Bitmap File: 300 DPI or greater and saved as a JPEG or TIFF file.

THE CASE LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
We warrant each and every Case knife to be free of defects in material and workmanship for the life of the owner, and we will repair or replace with a new Case knife, at our
option, any Case knife that is defective. That’s how strongly we feel about the quality of our cutlery. If you believe your Case knife has a manufacturing defect, mail your knife
along with a written explanation of the problem to: W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co., Repair Department, 50 Owens Way, Bradford, PA 16701 USA.
Case does not warrant its products against normal wear or misuse. Case knives are not intended to be used as hammers, chisels, pry bars or screw drivers. If your knife
was damaged due to misuse, our repair department can analyze the damage and repair it for a reasonable fee. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have
other rights which vary by area.
CONSUMER AWARENESS STATEMENT
The blades that go into every Case knife are honed to an extremely sharp edge. We ask that you be very cautious when opening, using or sharpening our products. Case
knives are intended to be used as working tools; they are not weapons and should not be used as such. If an injury occurs during use (or misuse) of a Case knife, this is
a risk that our customers assume, and Case can in no way be held accountable. Our customers expect Case to deliver high-quality, razor-sharp knives; in turn, we ask
each customer to use our products safely and wisely.
