From birthday parties to anniversary celebrations, host your next party at the aquatic center! Greetings from the Golf shop! The 2010 – 2011 Golf season is officially underway and the excitement at the club has never been higher. We have spent the off-season working on not only our new bunkers on the Tour Course but also on several new programs for you and your entire family to enjoy. Each of these new programs has been developed to enhance the service you receive at the club as well as the amenities at your disposal. The entire staff is energized for the upcoming year. This past summer the club has made a commitment to improving all golf facilities. Along with the renovation of the Tour Course bunkers the Golf Course Maintenance Department has received over $500,000 in new equipment including walk mowers for the greens and a new cart fleet has been ordered. The walk mowers will make a tremendous difference in the quality of the putting surfaces. This commitment to continuing our improvement as a club has been noticed. We recently received the opportunity from the Florida State Golf Association to once again be the host site for U.S. Open Qualifying. The qualifier will be in early summer next year. This is a great opportunity for the club. Weston Hills Country Club has also reached an agreement with the American Junior Golf Association to once again host the AJGA Florida Junior Golf Championship. Several of the finest junior golfers in the United States participated last year and raved about their experience here. courses. An area in which they will be focusing on in the near future is our practice facilities. We have one of the finest ranges (really) in the area and Scott has a plan to make sure we keep it in fantastic shape. Members can help by keeping their divot patterns small and only using the designated areas for practice. In order to properly maintain the range we will need to have it closed for maintenance as follows: weekend. There will still be Starters on the Tees but the Master Starter will coordinate all play. With the introduction of the Master Starter members will no longer have to check in at the Golf Shop prior to their rounds on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Members will check in with the Master Starter and he will handle the charges. The Master Starter will be available on Saturdays and Sundays from 6:30am – 1pm. Beginning in November members at Weston Hills will notice a change in our outside operations. Over the past several months we have developed a plan that will greatly improve our focus on member service. When you arrive at the club you will be welcomed at the bag drop by a club greeter. The Greeter will help you with any needs you may have and will also direct your guests to the golf shop for registration. The Greeter will have a copy of the tee sheet and will set you and your guests up for play. All guests will be required to check into the golf shop prior to use of the range or golf facilities. The Greeter will be at the bag drop from 7am – Dusk daily. Many of you have asked us about the ability to make your tee times online. Well good news is here. We have reached an agreement with Foretees which is an online tee time system. Foretees will allow our members to book tee times at the club 24 hours a day. All of our normal club tee time policies will be in place and Saturday morning tee times will continue to be made through the Golf Shop. The Foretees reservation system is a powerful tool which will allow members the opportunity to book tee times, sign up for events, email other members for games and book golf lessons. We are very excited to offer this to our members. As we get closer to launching the system we will send additional information. On weekends we have created a new Master Starter position at the bottom of the deck ramp. The Master Starter will be in control of all of the tee boxes over the Scott, our Golf Course Superintendent, and the entire team at Golf Course Maintenance have been working very hard to continue the improvements to the golf Monday closed until 12pm Thursday closed from 10:30am – 12:30pm Girls, Giggles, & Golf Although these closures can be inconvenient, they are necessary for the overall condition of the facility. Every Thursday Caring for our Courses and Practice Areas is a responsibility that we all share. The club will be adding additional staff this year to help enforce all club policies including proper etiquette on the course. That being said the member is responsible for doing their share. Not raking a bunker or not filling a divot is an inappropriate act by a member. Please keep in mind that the group behind you is filled by your fellow members. Please be on the lookout for upcoming Care for the Course days. These events are great fun and help us keep the courses in great shape. Ladies, Join us at our G, G, & G Event, designed to introduce you to the game in a fun and relaxing way. Our team of professional instructors has put together some very good programs for this year. We are excited to offer Junior, Ladies and Family Golf Programs for you. We have purchased equipment that will make the entry into golf more enjoyable and less difficult. SNAG Golf is a great way to learn the game. The products make learning fun and easy so that everyone in your family can have fun on the course. We will be having a SNAG Golf open house in the near future for you to see how much fun golf can be for all ages and abilities. On Tuesday nights we are planning on having Kids Golf Night at the Club! From 6pm – 8pm on Tuesday our golf professionals will be setting up the SNAG Golf product line in the ballroom for kids to play while their parents enjoy dinner at the club. Participation will be $15 and will include a kid’s dinner buffet as well as instruction. Parents are asked to sign up in advance. Well as you can see we have a tremendous amount of exhilarating plans for the upcoming year. We hope that everyone takes advantage of these programs that were designed specifically for our membership. Thanks for being a member and see you at the Club soon! 10:00am Event format is Fun, Fun & Fun.
