Innovative Competent Flexible Booth No 2381 Hygiene Technologie GmbH Basaltweg 3 Industriegebiet Nord / Grubenfeld DE-56727 Mayen Germany Tel.: ++49-(0)2651 – 942940 Fax: ++49-(0)2651 – 9429494 QUI/2010 QUI/2010 HIGH DENSITY CORE - INTRO HDC – HIGH DENSITY CORES Keep your existing machine, but do an important upgrade of your products, with minimum rebuilt downtime of your line: BICMA technology for ultrathin high-density fluff/SAP cores has enormous success in the market. The technology is delivered as an independent stand-alone module which can easily be added to your existing machine. It is suitable for feminine care or light incontinence products, as well as for adult diapers and baby diapers. The principle: • 2 outer layers of pure fluff • High percentage of SAP in center layer • Strong compression • Option: Pattern embossing for enhanced core flexibility and liquid distribution Your benefits: • Cost reduction • Modern product appearance • Good pad integrity • Comfort and discretion for the end user • Good absorption performance despite reduced thickness When will YOU decide to go for this upgrade? The General Managers Thomas Spurzem Lothar Geiger COMPARISON OF CORE TYPES QUI/2010 Baby Diaper Classical Cores – A Comparison The classical core is bulky, rather thick, with low pad density. It has a homogeneous mix of fluff and SAP and usually a 3D shape. The amount of SAP is limited to avoid clogging of the drumformer screens. 3D-core, Fluff + SAP homogeneous Example Calculation: Fluff per diaper 13 g / Price apprx 600 € per ton SAP per diaper 09 g / Price apprx 1,500 € per ton Retention: Fluff 13 g x 4 = 52 SAP 09 g x 33 = 297 Total retention/core = 349 Costs: Fluff 13 g x 0,06 SAP 09 g x 0,15 Total cost/core = = = g g g 0,78 €ct 1,35 €ct 2,13 €ct This calculation is a non-binding example. The actual values for your product will depend on the market prices for raw materials, your types of fluff and SAP, and your product specifications. COMPARISON OF CORE TYPES QUI/2010 Baby Diaper High Density Cores – A Comparison The HDC core is ultrathin, with high pad density. It has a sandwich structure with pure fluff layers outside, and a homogeneous mix of fluff with high SAP percentage in the middle. The maximum percentage is subject to the SAP type. The core typically has a 2D shape and can have a pattern embossing as an option. The dusting layers can be very thin, e.g. only 40 gsm each. Sandwich structure, thin, SAP in middle layer Example Calculation: Fluff per diaper 8,0 g / Price apprx 600 € per ton SAP per diaper 9,7 g / Price apprx 1,500 € per ton Retention: Fluff 8,0 g x 4 SAP 9,7 g x 33 Total retention/core = 32 g = 320,1 g = 352,1 g Costs: Fluff 8,0 g x 0,06 SAP 9,7 g x 0,15 Total cost/core = = = 0,48 €ct 1,46 €ct 1,94 €ct This calculation is a non-binding example. The actual values for your product will depend on the market prices for raw materials, your types of fluff and SAP, and your product specifications. COMPARISON OF CORE TYPES QUI/2010 Baby Diaper Core Costs Classical versus HDC CLASSICAL CORE HDC CORE Low Scenario Low Scenario 8h/shift x 1 shift/day 8h/shift x 1 shift/day X 300 days/year X 300 days/year 400 prod/minute 400 prod/minute = 1,226,888 €/year = 1,117,440 €/year High Scenario High Scenario 8h/shift x 3 shifts/day 8h/shift x 3 shifts/day X 300 days/year X 300 days/year 750 prod/minute 750 prod/minute = 6,901,200 €/year = 6,285.600 €/year COST SAVINGS WITH HDC CORE QUI/2010 Baby Diaper High Density Cores – Yearly Cost Savings Sandwich structure, thin, SAP in middle layer This modern type of core therefore includes a high saving potential. Although our calculations are only non-binding estimations, you can see that savings in the following range are not unrealistic: Savings of up to 616.000 Euro / Year The higher your production figures are per year and machine, the faster the investment in a HDC upgrade will be paid by the savings you have in the core costs. QUI/2010 HDC TECHNOLOGY High Density Cores – The Equipment Equipment Independent stand-alone equipment for quickest possible upgrade of your line – minimum downtime, minimum interface clarifications. SAP units available in vibration or screw feeder principle, all systems loss-in-weight. Special technology for drum change within only 5 minutes (Option). QUI/2010 Contact us for a Budget Quotation!
