Let there be light - TAXI chandelier is custom made by
a Munich-based designer in a very limited series with a
production time of four to eight weeks. A luxuriously handmade stainless steel frame and conventional salt shaker are
transformed into a unique unconventional light source that
radiates exquisite and wonderfully warm light.
‹TAXI› is available as a halogen or LED illumination and
dimmable. Prices range from 3.500,00 EUR (see image)

At first, the coloured lining on the Meranti tabletop just seams painted, but nothing is what it seems. The table is made
of a recycled gym floor that dates back to 1968. When in
2011, Menkesdriek heard that the floor of the gymnasium in
his native village would be demolished,he decided to save its
floor from distintion bye dividing it
into 88 tabletops. Atelier Belge and Menkesdriek want to
spread a little piece of hometown all over the world.

Als Menkesdriek 2011 hörte, dass die alte Sporthalle in
seinem Heimatdorf abgerissen werden soll, beschloss er den
alten Meranti Fußboden zu retten. Bereits nach der ersten
Latte war ihm klar das der Boden zum Tisch werden sollte.
Er verarbeitete den Boden zu 88 einzigartigen Tischen und
verbreitet so ein Stück Heimat an Orte auf der ganzen Welt.

This collection - which was awarded the illustrious Editors
Award for Best Textiles at the 2012 International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York - specifically seeks to explore
colour and scale through architectonic shapes and digital
imagery. It reflects alchemy not only through its original design process, but also through the transformative effect that
results from making products by hand. Each product is handwoven on a wooden loom by skilled craftsmen at Teixidors
in the Spanish region of Terrassa, near Barcelona. Teixidors
is an inspiring company that started life as a social project in
1983. Its goal was to help and support people with learning
difficulties by teaching them the art of manual weaving. It
now works with people with a wide range of disabilities and
to this day, works to integrate people at risk of exclusion by
teaching them a creative trade and developing exceptional
products.

sind, werden von uns wieder zum Leben erweckt und durch

its illumination. 120 LEDs line the interior of an acrylic tube,

light objects as well as 2D patterns.

Klaas Kuiken verwandelt Flaschen aus industrieller Herstellung in Unikate. Im Rahmen von Materialstudien für seine
Diplomarbeit fand Klaas Kuiken heraus, dass die Wände
von Glasflaschen an unterschiedlichen Stellen unterschiedliche Stärken aufweisen. Durch Erhitzung und Befüllung mit
Druckluft verformt sich das Glas an den dünneren Stellen
stärker, so entstehen individuelle Formen. Die Abschlussarbeit wurde 2010 für den Award der DOEN Foundation
nominiert, die innovative, nachhaltige Ideen im Umgang mit
Materialien fördert.

Reversed Volumes is a collection of bowls designed by food. Similar to
a recipe, and using elements that may be found in any kitchen, the space
between a bowl and a fruit/vegetable is filled. Once dried, the filling material
has adopted the imprint of its containers. The imprint of the different fruits/
vegetables is represented in detail from a new point of view. These food-safe
and water proof resin objects are manufactured through an industrial process,
while the finishing and manufacturing of the colours are done manually in
order to provide them with slight differences.

consists of three glass Russian dolls that can be used as a stylish decoration, an elegant flower display or a storage for all
your treasured trinkets and sweets.
Inspired by a Matryoshka Doll, also known as Russian nesting
or nested doll, originally it refers to a set of wooden dolls of
decreasing size placed one inside the other. The first Russian
nested doll set was carved in 1890 by Vasily Zvyozdochkin
from a design by Sergey Malyutin, who was a folk crafts
painter in the Abramtsevo estate of the Russian industrialist
and patron of arts Savva Mamontov. The doll set was painted
by Malyutin and consisted of eight dolls - the outermost was
a girl in a traditional dress holding a rooster, the inner dolls
were girls and a boy, and the innermost a baby. Zvyozdochkin
and Malyutin were inspired by a doll from Honshu, the main
island of Japan. Sources differ in descriptions of the doll,
describing it as either a round, hollow daruma doll or a fukuruma nesting doll portraying portly bald old Buddhist monk.
Savva Mamontov‘s wife presented the dolls at the Exposition
Universelle (1900) in Paris, where the toy earned a bronze medal. Soon after, matryoshka dolls were being made in several
places in Russia and shipped around the world.

Sisters Eveline and Marianne Maat of By Mölle have brought a whole new
meaning to the words ‘old blue jeans’ by literally turning rags into riches in
creating a soft furnishings line made from recycled and re-spun denim fabrics.
Working with European weavers and craftsmen, these industrious Dutch
sisters produce limited editions of woolen blankets, throws of recycled denims
and pure linens.They give denim a second life by removing zips and buttons

Academy Eindhoven, they joined forces by combining their
expertise in material, color
and having fun. All resulting
in this material study expressing the experimental character of both young designers.
„We love crafts, colors and
cups.This is coming together
in a material experiment with
pigment and porcelain; a
research about the flowing of
colors through liquid porcelain, resulting in a series of
handmade and unique objects.
Our cups might be messy,
might be fixed, can be colorful or subtle, but are always
created by the blending of
the colored porcelain. The
technique of pouring becomes
visible in the final product
and the moment of creationis frozen in the appearance
of the cup. By following the
colored patterns you discover
the movements we made and
get an insight in the process.“

NIENKE
Designers Alissa + Nienke work by several methods of experimentation. Their latest series of cups is the result of a material experiment using
pigment and porcelain. It is a research into the flowing of colors through
liquid clay, resulting in a series of unique handmade cups. By linking shapes
to colors, they created space for experiment. Their cups might be messy or
fixed, colorful or subtle, but are always guided by the flowing of the clay.
The technique of pouring becomes visible in the final product. Following the
drawings made in the clay leads to discovery of the movements made.

Created by Amsterdam designer Thomas Eurlings, the Fading Mirror has a
printed gradient under the glass to give a soft-focus reflection. This mirror
