Ian has made over forty investments across a wide range of industries. Aulich is a Member of the Board of PV Crystalox Solar PLC, one of the world’s leading independent developers and producers of solar grade silicon products. Dr. Aulich received his Ph. Boris Augurzky is division chief of the health department at Rheinisch-Westfälisches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung e.V. (RWI) he joined in 2003. Additionally, he is managing partner of the Institute for Health Care Business GmbH (HCB) he founded together with partners in 2006. At the RWI he coordinates basic and commissioned research (policy advice) projects. His focus is on the in-patient sector (hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation), on health insurances, and in general on reforming the health system. Auf Basis umfangreicher Sammlungen natürlicher Mikroorganismen und Metagenombibliotheken werden mit klassisch-mikrobiologischen, molekularbiologischen und molekulargenetischen Methoden Enzyme-, Biokatalysatoren und bioaktive Naturstoffe für die Industrie entwickelt. BRAIN hat seit 1993 über 60 Kooperationen mit zahlreiche Unternehmen der chemischen und der Konsumgüterindustrie erfolgreich bearbeitet. Für sein unternehmerisches Wirken als „Pionier des nachhaltigen Wirtschaftens“ wurde ihm zusammen mit Prof. Dr. Ernst-Ulrich von Weizsäcker 2008 die höchstdotierte europäische Umweltauszeichnung, der Deutsche Umweltpreis, verliehen. 4 / 80
