Bryan Howland earned
his doctor of chiropractic degree from Logan University
in St. Louis, graduating as
valedictorian of his class
and with dean’s list recognition. He is a son of Richard
Howland and Nancy Copps,
both of Pittsfield.
Michael Shull of Quincy and Douglas Whiston
of Quincy graduated from
the University of Kansas at
the end of the spring 2013
semester. Shull received a
master of science in education. Whiston received a
bachelor of arts in political
science.

from Marquette University
in Milwaukee, Wis. Park
earned a bachelor of science
in accounting.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Two area students have
been awarded scholarships
to attend Southeast Missouri
State University for the 20142015 academic year. They
are: Justin Staley of Quincy;
Adrian Zehnle of Fowler.

BLESSING-RIEMAN COLLEGE OF NURSING
Nursing honor society holds its
14th annual induction ceremony
The Quincy-based Pi Pi
Chapter of the Sigma Theta
Tau International Honor Society of Nursing held its 14th
induction ceremony recently,
welcoming 20 new members.
The chapter, based at
Blessing-Rieman College of
Nursing, has 379 members.
Membership is by invitation. Honor society inductees
fall into one of three categories: Nurse Leader, Graduate or Undergraduate Nursing Student.
Nurse Leader inductees
were Ashley Darbyshire, instructor, Blessing-Rieman
College of Nursing; and Leslie Miller, Blessing Hospital
Intensive Care Unit. Nurse
Leaders have demonstrated
marked achievement in
nursing education, practice,
research,
administration
or publication and holds at
least a baccalaureate degree.
The following members
joined the Pi Pi as Undergraduate Nursing Students,
meaning they are enrolled
in a baccalaureate nursing
education program, have
completed at least one-half
of their nursing curriculum, rank in the upper 35
percent of their graduating
class and have a minimum
GPA of 3.5. All the students
