Eckehard Steinbach Bachelor Thesis Ingenieurspraxis Forschungspraxis Robust Hair Detection on Surface Images for Haptic Surface Classification The student will be given a dataset of different magnified surface images, which vary in terms of recording distance, angle, lighting conditions and/or focus. Softer materials, such as foams, fabrics, textiles, reveal characteristic fibers/hair structures that need to be identified robustly using Matlab (Image Processing Toolbox, e.g.).
