The Christmas Story
The Creation of the World
Legends of Saints in 5 Minute Tales
Die Weihnachtsgeschichte
Die Schöpfungsgeschichte
Heiligenlegenden
The Christmas story according to Luke and
Matthew is undoubtedly the most well-known
of all stories in Christian literature. Closely emphasising with those times and the feelings of
the protagonists, Anselm Grün tells us of the
archangel‘s announcement, the birth of the child
in Bethlehem, the journey of the three wise men
and finally, the flight to Egypt. The artistic illustrations by Christina Enojada make this picture
book a very special read (out loud) experience for
all the family.
The Story of the Creation of the World is one
of the most important writings of Christian literature. In a picturesque and joyful language
bestselling author Andrea Schwarz recounts the
Story of the Creation of the World as we know
it from Genesis 1. Xenia Schmidt, winner of
multiple awards, has painted congenial pictures,
which mirror the fullness and beauty of our world
in a very artful way.
No matter whether it is the Three Wise Men,
George the Dragon Slayer or Mother Teresa there are lots of saints with fascinating stories
to be related. Annette Langen has chosen the
loveliest and retells them for a children‘s audience. They are easy to understand and lovingly
illustrated. In this way, even the youngest among
us can learn about the most important saints, their
lives and deeds.

A children‘s Easter story
Saint Martin - the best stories for children
The Story of Saint Nicholas
Die Ostergeschichte
Sankt Martin
Die Geschichte von Sankt Nikolaus
Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sundayeach year we celebrate these very special days.
The story of Easter - what really happened 2000
years ago is carefully and lovingly described for
children in this book. The detailed and expressive
illustrations give the impression that we are there
in the midst of the action - when Jesus arrives in
Jerusalem, when he throws the tradesmen out of
the temple, when he prays in the Garden of Gethsemane, when he is betrayed, arrested and condemned, when he dies and finally overcomes death.
Who was Martin of Tours? How did he become
so well-known? Sabine Stadtfeld tells the young
reader why this saint is still such an important
figure today. A beautiful story with delightful illustrations by Ute Thönissen.
Everyone has heard of generous Saint Nicholas.
He comes into our homes every year and loves all
children. Ingrid Uebe tells the story of the legend
of Saint Nicholas in rhyme-form for children 3
years and upwards.

Mein erstes Buch von Ostern
Mein erstes Buch vom Beten
Mein erstes Buch vom Schutzengel
Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter - year for

we explain their meaning to small children? Over

had to die and then overcame death. She tells the
story so gently that even very young children will
understand „the reason to be joyful! Jesus lives!“
A beautifully illustrated book containing wellknown, traditional children‘s prayers and prayers
in rhyme written by Werner Krauss. Susanne
Krauss‘ illustrations delight both young and old.

best-known prayers about guardian angels. Partly

Dear Lord, I‘ve Got Something to Tell You!
Lieber Gott, ich sag dir was!
Stories and prayers for all occasions - a special
companion for children in everyday life! Friendship, arguments, worries, happiness, trouble or
jealousy - all of these are repeatedly a concern for
children. Ensuring that they are not left alone to
cope with these feelings, the stories in this book
deal with all these subjects and encourage children
and adults to talk about them together. They carefully show how children can cope with everyday
situations themselves and lead into a suitable
prayer. A treasure of a book that belongs in every
child‘s bookcase!

This selection of stories passed

and women. The stories are full of
surprises, worldly truths and amazing events. Here we find the great
model figures from which the likes
of „Harry Potter“ or „Lord of the
Rings“ evolved. The stories are fascinating, colourful and entertaining.
They are also exemplary for our day
to day lives.
He is the great symbol of peace for
both young and old. Peace between
neighbours, people and religions
and peace in our creation. Children
are astonished, yet understand: why
he gave up his birthright, why he
cared for and protected all creatures
big and small, how he gained audience with the Sultan of Egypt... His
life was full of surprises and he had
the courage to dare to tread new
ways.

until printing presses were invented.
There were clever people who translated the Bible into many different

Rund um den Vatikan
During a church service, the Creed
is recited by the congregation. But
what exactly does this declaration
of faith mean? In simple terms, Julia
Knop explains the doctrine behind
each line of the Creed, while gentle, atmospheric pictures by Beate
Speck-Kafkoulas reflect the biblical
background.

All over the world there are Christians and all over the world they go
to church. Just as every country has
a different climate, different culture,
different way of life, they also have
a different kind of church. And yet,
wherever Christians celebrate in the
world they are at home. Age 3 and
over.
The biblical story of the creation
told for children in a modern context, with wonderful illustrations.
Pictures taken from our day to day
lives illustrate how God made the
world, that he cares for it, and we
enjoy it day after day, as a gift of
God. We can delight in plants and
animals, but we must also remember
that we are responsible for looking
after God‘s creation.
Holy mass - easy to read and understand, for children from the age of
3. Fourteen colourful illustrations
and fourteen texts teach children the
order of service and its significance
- from the invitation „The bells are
ringing - we are going to church“ to
the blessing: „God‘s blessing accompanies us - we are never left alone“.
Charming illustrations highlight the
events in the service.

When children go to church they
can not understand everything, but
they can recognise familiar words
and actions. This hard back book
explains the most important stages
of mass.Texts highlighted in colour
indicate phrases that can be heard
in each service and which parents
can teach their children to say. Age
2 and over.
Many editions of this popular, illustrated introduction to holy mass for
children have already been printed.
Elmar Gruber has now revised the
text and added new, refreshing, contemporary illustrations. The pictures are expressive and highlight
realistic detail, for example garments, utensils, objects, furniture
and many other things that children
will see when they go to the church.
Children learn about their church:
the font, the altar, the tabernacle
and much more. They learn what
happens in holy mass. There is also
space for them to draw pictures of
their own churches. A guide for parents is also included. Age 3 and over.
Holy Mass - with colourful illustrations and in words that are easy to
understand for children age 3 and

going to Mass fun. It is similar in
format to a proper Mass book, making it perfect for children to carry to

Children are fascinated by labyrinths: a winding path leads to
the centre. It is impossible to get
lost, but there are no short cuts. A
roundabout route takes us to our
goal. These ancient symbols express
something existential that appeals to
everyone. Frank Nesselhauf has selected fifteen labyrinths originating
from different cultures. Each is very
different from the other.
Mandalas point to the depths and
emanate peace and stillness. This
book contains special motifs for
Christmas, helping children understand the significance of this celebration. Simple instructions tell
children what to do. Inspiring texts
help make this book an ideal companion for the Christmas period.

It happened in Bethlehem
The Christmas story told to
children
Come to the crib with me
My Christmas book
Komm mit zur Weihnachtskrippe
Mein Weihnachtsbuch
Die Weihnachtsgeschichte
Children look at the crib with big,
wide eyes. They know it well. The
stories that Bishop Kamphaus tells
are new and full of life. A stable in
Bethlehem, draughty and cold, over
which a bright star shines. The kings
come from far away to see the baby
born that night. „Can a little baby be
so important?“ „This little child will
change the world?“ Such questions
arouse their curiosity.
What exactly doe we celebrate at
Christmas? What about Mary and
the angel? Why did Mary and Josef have to go to Bethlehem? And
how can we communicate all this to
our children? Colourful illustrations
complement the biblical story from
the Annunciation and the birth of
Jesus, to the visit of the three kings
and the flight to Egypt. A book to
read aloud with a useful guide for
teachers and parents.
Es geschah in Bethlehem
Eight double pages depict the
Christmas story in simple language
as told in the gospel of Luke. The
announcement to Mary by angel
Gabriel, the search for a place at the
inn, the birth in the stable, the shepherds in their fields, the visit by the
three wise men. The language that
adheres closely to the Bible text is
easy for children to grasp and comes
alive with the emotive pictures.

The Christmas story, told according to the gospel of St. Luke, is
presented in a way that children can
easily understand. Beautiful classical
pictures illustrate the story, bringing
alive the miracle of that holy night.
Text and pictures convey what happened that night 2000 years ago;
why Mary and Joseph travelled to
Bethlehem; why their child was born
in a stable and how the shepherds
found them.

The period between Lent and Easter is rich in events and celebrations.
There is much to see and many
questions to ask: What is the ashen
cross on our foreheads for on Ash
Wednesday? Why do we have a procession with palms on Palm Sunday?
Why do we bake an Easter lamb?
And, of course, why does an Easter
bunny bring Easter eggs? Dr. Albert
Bichler helps parents and teachers
provide the right answers!
What is celebrated in Church on
Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday,
Good Friday and Easter is not so
easy to grasp. It is important that
the story of Jesus at Easter be told
in a way that is easy for children
to understand, particularly young
children who have no concept of dying and death. „My book of Easter“
helps parents and teachers to tell
the story of Jesus‘ death and resurrection.
The joys of springtime! Parents and
children alike will enjoy discovering
things about this exciting time of the
year. There is not only a great deal
going on outside at this time of the

Evening, settling down time, is a

included some prayers written by
himself which can be used for special
situations.

My first book about Jesus
My first book about Jesus
My first book of Easter
My first book of St. Martin
Mein erstes Buch vom Christkind
Mein erstes Buch von Jesus
Mein erstes Buch von Ostern
Mein erstes Buch von Sankt Martin
This beautifully illustrated book
tells the Christmas story in short
rhymes. Very small children soon
know the story by heart and can
surprise their relatives by reciting it
on Christmas Eve.
This colourful and delightfully illustrated book provides children with
a lasting picture of Jesus. The most
important stages of his life are documented: birth in Bethlehem - Jesus‘
friends - Jesus heals the sick - Jesus
and his father in heaven - Jesus lives
after death. Ideal to read aloud, or
look at the pictures. Age 3 and over.
Maundy Thursday, Good Friday,
Easter - again and again each year
we celebrate these very special days.
But, what do we say to bright children who ask questions for the first
time about what exactly it is we are
celebrating? Mary Magdalene was
there when everything happened.
She tells how Jesus died, but came
back to life; he gave his friends
hope and stayed with them in a very
special way.
Lantern procession and a Martin‘s
bonfire: children love this celebration. They know the story of Martin
sharing his coat with a poor man.
this book tells them more about
Martin. We learn why he hid with
the geese, how he became bishop.
The most important stories associated with this saint told in simple
words and wonderfully illustrated.

Mein erstes Buch vom Nikolaus
This board book tells young children of the legend of St. Martin. He
was first a Roman soldier (cuts his
cape in half), then (after a dream)
he was christened, and later became
bishop (because cackling geese betrayed his hiding place). Includes St.
Martin‘s song.
The most important and popular
legends associated with St. Nicholas
are retold in easy to read language
and are beautifully illustrated. He
is a bishop, not with a red and whit
hat, but with proper bishop´s robes
and a proper bishop´s hat. He is
close to the people and, through his
generosity and sense of justice, saves
them from many hardships, such as
poverty and hunger.
This book tells the legend of Bishop
Nicholas for children. How he
helped three poor girls, what he did
to rescue the people of Myra - and
why he leaves children sweets and
goodies. The glittery cover adds the
finishing touch to this delightful gift
book.

frightened soft toys finally find their

It comes as a tremendous shock
when they discover that a friend
in their clique has been infected
with Aids! Everything appears in a
completely different light. C. Wührl
illustrates in her novel how courage
can grow from despair, how fear
and rage begin to change to contemplation and responsibility. Each
member of the group begins a new
life - in the „heartland“ of a new
responsible solidarity.
Who am I? Is there a God? Do I
need him? What is world peace?
In a virtual chat room 14 similar
questions are posed. Poets, philosophers, celebrities, experts and lay
people give their opinions and invite
young people to discover their own
answers. Witty, thought-provoking
photographs encourage young readers to pose difficult questions and
not be satisfied with blasé answers.
Five new short stories tell of Cab
Checker‘s adventures in New York.
Each thought-provoking story can
be read independently of the others.
Those familiar with the Bible will
recognise that his experiences are
biblical parables, situated in the city
of New York. These enlightening
stories are introduced by powerful,
original collages which are more
than a picturesque accompaniment
to the texts...
Cab Checker still drives his taxi
through New York. He tells of his
experiences in five new stories.
Those with knowledge of the Bible
will recognize that the stories have
something to do with the ten commandments, but put into a modern
context. Short stories for teenagers
