PProgress on initiatives with next generation technology such as big data, mobility, the paperless airline, and beyond are being stifled by the technical debt of legacy and arcane systems. The liability cost of shutting down redundant and obsolete systems is seen as being higher then the cost to maintain them or simply do nothing. This keynote by Paul Saunders offers practical solutions for aerospace organisations who believe that winter is coming and every system must die. How can latest thinking on information archiving, application retirement, and other emerging trends, allow organisations to tame the mountain of data and gain efficiencies from the complex technology eco-systems of merged, mixed and legacy fleets? PRESENTER: Paul Saunders, Global Product Manager, Flatirons Solutions 10:00 - 10:30 OEM Live Data Mobile Maintenance Case Study: A look at the Airbus Smarter Fleet powered by IBM. Airlines have many different landscapes, using different IT systems both bespoke and standard solutions – how can these different IT systems be effectively integrated with key data shared between organizations? In this presentation Lufthansa Technik explain how they overcome this problem by creating individual B-2-B interfaces for seamless connectivity with 3rd party software and by using their own MRO IT solution, manage-m, which customers can log into and view their key MRO data. Lufthansa Technik also outline how to provide reliable support for IT networks with increasing complexity. PRESENTER: Martin Stolley, Head of Solutions for Customers, Lufthansa Technik AG 16:45 - 17:15 Aircraft & Engine Lease Return Keynote: MRO data exchange between airline, MRO & Lessor; is digital documentation the answer for smooth aircraft & engine lease returns? Having the right documentation and data ready for an aircraft or engine lease return can cause big problems for airlines, operators and leasing companies alike. If you include MRO data from any 3rd party maintenance shops that the airline or operator may have used during the lease then the situation becomes more complicated. The presentation explores best practice for lease returns and the exchange of data using the latest IT systems and digital documentation. PRESENTER: Tim Scott, Vice President Technical Services, AVITAS 17:15 - 17:45 Aircraft Analytics Keynote: An overview of the Overall Management Architecture for Health Analysis (OMAHA) project being developed by Lufthansa Industry Solutions in collaboration with Airbus and other partners.
