Möglich das sich einige Leser noch an das Interview mit Linda McDonald (Phantom Blue)
erinnern, indem sie uns erzählte das sie noch in einer Iron Maiden-Coverband spiele. Nun seit ein
paar Monaten und die Iron Maidens haben ihre erste CD aufgenommen und ich sage euch die 5
Damen haben es echt raus. Sicher ist es nichts wirklich besonderes das eine Cover-CD erscheint,
doch bei The Iron Maidens ist es schon was besonders. Die Ladys haben den Sound von Iron
Maiden verinnerlicht und haben ein fantastisches Tribut an die NWOBHM-Götter abgeliefert. Es
fängt schon bei der Verpackung der CD an, das Cover wurde von Zeichner Derek Riggs
angefertigt, der ja lange Jahre die Plattenhüllen von Maiden verschönerte. Ein Hammer-Bild,
welches an das „Killers“-Artwork angelehnt ist, nur das Eddie eben ein Mädel ist und sich die
Szene auf einer Strasse in Hollywood abspielt.
Die Band hat sich in Kalifornien schon eine beachtliche Fan-Base erspielt und soll auch die Show von Iron Maiden
kopieren, was an den Outfits der Mädel zu sehen ist. Die Songauswahl könnte besser nicht sein, bis zum Jahr 1986
werden Hits der „Eisernen“ geboten und mit viel Feuer und Energie gespielt. Beachtlich ist die Leistung von Sängerin Aja
Kim „Bruce Lee Chickinson“, die sich scheinbar mit Leichtigkeit durch Songs wie „Children of the Damned“ oder „Hallowed
be thy Name“ singt. Aber auch zwei Lieder aus der Dianno-Zeit werden mit einer Menge Rotz dargeboten, das wären
„Killers“ und „Phantom of the Opera“.
Als Bonus findet ihr noch einen so genannten „Hidden-Track“, der sich als Liveversion vom „Remember Tomorrow“
entpuppt. Eine klasse Angelegenheit ist das erste „World´s only Female Tribute…“ geworden, wer sich für die CD

Mabye some of our Readers are remember the Interview with Linda McDonald (Phantom Blue) some month ago, there she
told us about her Tribute –Band and now we have the honour to present the first CD of The Iron Maidens. This 5 Lady’s
have the spirit of Iron Maiden in their blood and made great work on their first CD. Sure a Cover-CD seems not so amazing
to some, but when you listen to this, you will agree that this is the real spirit of the NWOBHM-Gods, without a question a
fantastic tribute to Iron Maiden.
It starts with the Cover, painted by Derek Riggs, he work long time for Maiden and draws the most of the classical Covers.
A Killer-Artwork is what catches your eye, based on the Artwork from the “Killers”-Album. Sure Eddie is a Woman here and
the Scene happened in Hollywood.
The Band has a strong Fan base back home in California and their Live-Shows are legendary, yea the girls are imitate the
Iron Maiden-Shows in their own way. They choose the perfect songs for their first CD, mostly al big hits till 1986 they bring
us back to memory. They played the tunes with lot of energy and pleasure. Great to hear that Frontlady Aja Kim “Bruce
Lee Chickinson” made a cool and easy job to sing such Songs like “Children of the Damend” or “Hallowed be thy name”.
Not only the Dickinson-days are present here, also two tunes from the Dianno-Records you can find here. Aja sings
“Killers” and “Phatom of the Opera” with such a great dirty sounding voice that you must here it to believe. Like a bonussong you will find here a Live-Version of “Remember tomorrow” as a so called “Hidden-Track”.
