30th Annual Lindale Chamber of Commerce Country Fest
Saturday, October 11, 2014, the Lindale Area
Chamber of Commerce will host the biggest Country Fest ever in downtown Lindale at Blackberry
Square. Since 1984, Lindale’s Country Fest has continued to entertain thousands of visitors and residents, with arts and crafts, games for the kids, great
food, live entertainment, and much more! Each and
every year added variety is given to the expanding
crowds. So get up early and stay late, because you
are all invited to Lindale for the day!
It all starts downtown Lindale with a pancake
breakfast, sponsored by the First United Methodist Church at 7:00 a. m. Scheduled to begin at 8:00
a.m. will be the Harvest Hustle 5K presented by
Longhorn Ford/Lonestar Dodge starting in downtown Lindale at Blackberry Square. The Harvest
Hustle will begin in the heart of Lindale on Industrial Street, adjacent to the Lindale “Pickers Pavilion”. Runners will “get their legs under them” on
the flat first half mile traveling through a residential area east on North Street, then turn north onto
the challenging rural rolling hills of Iron Mountain
Road! At the “half way” point, runners will enter the
beautiful Trail Creek Farm and will travel into the
farm, around the barn, out the gate and back onto
Iron Mountain Road. The back stretch for runners
will again be the rolling hills of Iron Mountain Road,
to the west turn onto North Street for the half mile
dash to the finish! The 1K run/walk will immediately follow the 5K and will be an out and back on
North Street. Stay after the race for all of the activities of “Countryfest” in Lindale!
Following the Harvest Hustle 5K/1K you can
stroll through the arts and craft booths, gobble a
turkey leg, take a look at the Longhorn Ford/Lonestar Dodge Car Display, and bid on auction items.
Children will spend the day at a variety of activities
including: The Texas Bank and Trust climbing wall,
Lindale Police Department’s Kid’s ID Booth, and
lots of carnival games provided by the First United
Methodist Church.
First class entertainment is sponsored by Miranda
Lambert and Pink Pistol Texas. Live Entertainment
will kick off at 9:00 am with the Pride of Lindale High
School Band, followed by Keri’s Dance Factory. Entertainment will continue with Prodigal at 10:00 am,
Kallee Rhodes at 11:00, Bobby Edwards and the Blue
Cats at 12:00 pm, and last year’s Lindale Iold winner
Chris Colston at 1:00 pm Countyfest Entertainment
will conclude with the Lindale Idol Competition at
2:00 pm. Entries for the Lindale Idol Competition
must preregister with the Lindale Chamber office.
The Kiwanis will host a Silent Auction from 9:00
a.m. till 11:00. Then, Kiwanis will begin a live auction, with numerous items being auctioned off from
11:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Past auction items have included: restaurant gift cards, merchant gift cards,
jewelry, autographed memorabilia, and trips.
Shrine Bull Fest will cap off the events at the Lindale Rodeo Arena on Hwy 16 W. at 6:00 p.m. Bull
riding begins at 7:00 p.m. where you will see professional bull riders in action. Advanced tickets
may be purchased at: Cavender’s Boot City, in Tyler
and Brookshire’s, Kidd-Jones, and Fleming Farm &
Ranch Supply, in Lindale. Tickets will also be sold
at the gate.

The Lindale Shrine BullFest is a fundraiser benefiting Sharon Shrine Center,
located in Tyler, Texas. Resulting in sold
out performances, BullFest has proven
to be one of the most popular events in
East Texas; having become a tremendous
success with more professional cowboys
wanting to enter than can be accepted.
Last year’s bull riding allowed 57 entries!
Wow! That’s a lot of bucks and a lot of
bulls.
The overwhelming success of BullFest
is due, in part, by Stock contractor Jerald
Smith of Wing Rodeo Company is well
known on the pro-rodeo circuit. He has
had stock entered and televised in the
“PBR,” movies, and the National Finals
in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cowboys are very
much aware of Mr. Smith and his stock’s
reputation, thus bringing the top ranking
bull riders to Shrine BullFest.
Saturday October 11th, the fun begins
downtown with a pancake breakfast and
a Harvest Hustle. The Hustle’s 1K and 5K
run begin at 8:30 a.m. Also downtown,
the Lindale Chamber of Commerce will
host their annual CountryFest celebration at Blackberry Square. CountryFest is
full of good food, games & rides for the
kids, music entertainment throughout
the day, arts & crafts, an all day auction,
and much more. Shrine BullFest welcomes back sponsor: The Lindale Candy
Company. So, while you’re downtown
at CountryFest, wander on over and get
a bag of homemade candy, from these
folks, and meet “Word Champion BullRider” Matt Austin. Matt, along with the
remote crew from KMOO 99.9, will be
at the candy store signing autographs
throughout the morning, but the fun
doesn’t end there! After CountryFest,
come down to Lindale’s Championship
Arena on Hwy 16 W. and get ready for
the best bull riding in Texas. As the 16th
annual Shrine BullFest kicks-off at 6:00 p
m with the best in musicians. This year

and the Ponderosa Band.
An East Texas radio personality “Hoss”
Huggins was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame on November 6, 2011.
He has entertained East Texas radio listeners with his humor and charisma for
more than 30 years. Hoss has voiced and
produced local and national radio and
TV commercials. As morning show host,
he emceed for country music’s biggest
stars including Johnny Cash, Alabama,
Dolly Parton, The Oak Ridge Boys, Barbara Mandrell, Loretta Lynn, and Mel
Tillis.
Hoss Huggins and the Ponderosa Band
is one of most popular booked groups in
the East Texas area; every weekend they
play somewhere around the area. The
band has been named ‘Tyler’s Best’ by
Tyler Today magazine. They have been
seen on CBS 19 News and Hoss has appeared on the CBS Prime Time at Five
News, as well as the CBS This Morning
Show. Called the World’s Largest 4 Piece
Band, other members of Ponderosa are
Larry Bearden, Larry Howeth and Andrea Jordan. Alternate band members include Mike Post, Tony Wilson and Scott
Rane. A sometimes guest performer with
the group is former Miss Texas, Jonna

Forces Rodeo Finals, Women’s National Finals Rodeo,
speaks for Coty’s ability as a
performer. Coty is a farrier
and beekeeper by trade. He
started in rodeo like most
as a bullrider in his younger
years, then on to bullfighting and clowning he went.

Ponderosa Band is one

The band plays all kinds

rock and roll, great old pop
standards, blues, waltzes
and even a polka or two.

How the GhostRiders were formed
The Ghostriders formed on August
6, 2001. We are made up of riders from
the age of 6 years old to don’t ask and
nobody gets hurt. We came together
for the love of riding and the wonderful fellowship we enjoy together. We
came together for the sake of keeping
together. We hope to inspire young
riders to want to ride in drill teams.
By doing this, we hope to keep the
spirit of the old west alive for years
to come. We are partners with the
Native American Nations, wonderful people and organizations. Such
as, The Texas Ranger’s Hall of Fame,
The Chickasaw Nation, The Cherokee
Nation, and The Pawnee Nation. We
never want to forget the great Native
Americans, Cowgirls and Cowboys of
the past. Without them we wouldn’t
