Frequently Asked Questions • When is the event? Saturday, February 6, 2016 • What time is the event? Registration begins at 8am Presentations from 9a-5pm with a one hour lunch break and several smaller breaks. • Where is the event held? The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine 501 D.W. Brooks Drive, Athens, Georgia, 30602 Room H237 • How do I register? Simply follow this link and fill in your information: http://tinyurl.com/shelter2016. Please be sure each person attending registers separately. Please be sure we have accurate contact information so that you can be notified if there are any changes. Please ensure your email address is correct as it is our only way of contacting you with updates. • What is the registration deadline? January 25, 2016. Please register by the deadline so that we can plan for your breakfast, lunch, and other supplies. • Who may attend? EVERYONE! This event is open to all: shelter professionals, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, volunteers, rescues, fosters, friends, family and supporters. We want anyone interested in shelter medicine to be able to come to the conference and enjoy all of our wonderful speakers. Event parking is FREE on weekends Parking lots S16, S17, S10 and S15 (Carlton Street Deck) are the most convenient to the College of Veterinary Medicine. Parking maps of the lots available can be found at: http://www.parking.uga.edu/maps/ugaparkingmap.pdf • Who funds and hosts this event? The Shelter Medicine Club officers organize the event. The funding for the conference comes from various sponsors. This year Nestle Purina will be graciously providing lunch to all attendees. • Will breakfast and lunch be served at this conference? A light breakfast and lunch will be served to conference registrants. There will be a vegetarian option. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate vegan or gluten free requests. • Can I (my friend, mother, neighbor, ect) come to the conference after the registration deadline of February 6, 2015 at 11:59 PM? YES! We want anyone interested in shelter medicine to be able to come to the conference, and enjoy all of our wonderful speakers. The registration deadline enable’s up to get the correct amount of supplies, food, drinks, ect. for the event. We just ask that you PLEASE do not partake in these in order for us to have the appropriate amount of supplies for those who registered. • Is CE available for this conference? Yes, however, there is a nominal fee charged by the CE Department for the CE Certificate. This year there will be a total of 7 CE credit hours available. The fee for the certificate last year was $50.00. • Will the presentations be available as handouts? We will try to provide a link to pdf’s of the presentations if our speakers make them available for downloading prior to the conference. We will NOT be able to provide printed handouts at the event due to printing costs. • Additional questions?
