Whether you’re painting, drawing or simply colouring, it has been proven to stimulate the brain in a positive way, especially when you’re creating art with other people who have the same interest as you! On March 11, a Dubai art community called We Love Art is hosting its very first Picnic at Kite Beach! This will be a fun way to not only get creative but to have the chance to interact with others as well. Moreoever, the event is free for everyone to join! READ reaches out to Denise, founder of We Love Art to tell us more about what to expect in the picnic. READ. MARCH 06 - MARCH 12, 2016 What is We Love Art Picnic? Can you elaborate on what’s going to happen? We Love Art Picnic is an artistic and relaxing event where people can get together, let go, and paint. I believe there are no activities as freeing and relaxing as a bunch of like-minded people together in a creative, cute, sunny and chilled environment. So my passion is to bring some of the good vibes and creativity that I have found in my home in Holland and travels around the world to Dubai. By the end of the day, we will have created beautiful paintings forged from the minds and souls of many diverse people. Such integration epitomizes Dubai I believe: which is a dynamic, happening and creative place that brings people together people of different ages, backgrounds, and cultures from all around the world together. We will also have cute gift bag giveaways for competition winners, tribal face paint, and a great fun setting to perhaps strike up conversations. The We Love Art picnic is bringing something new, fresh and fun to Dubai. This is the first time it’s going to happen, how many people are you expecting to join and what do you want to achieve in organizing this art picnic? We’re expecting about 2,000 people who are creative or creative within to join our gathering. In our events, We Love Art aims to bond people together, provide a friendly environment, and a sweet escape from the routines of life through art, relaxing music, a cute environment and good people. How can the people participate? We Love Art will take our successful gatherings to the beach for even more people to enjoy and put canvases up, where people who have artists waiting to get out of them can pass by, and contribute a small part to the canvas whilst chatting and listening to nice French music. People will have the opportunity to take nice pictures, paint by the beach, and make friends. Also, the event is free, and is part of Beach Canteen. he Dubai Canvas Festival is a yearly global art festival, featuring some of the world’s most prestigious street artists. This month, Dubai Canvas displays a 3D art festival where visitors can see various optical illusions made by 3D artists brought to Dubai from around the globe by the Dubai Media Office. The goal of this event is to promote Dubai as an artist’s dream holiday destination. Many art bloggers, media personalities and VIP guests will be attending the event. This festival, which began on March 1, will see the public spaces of JBR being transformed into a showcase for the creations of over 30 artists from across the world. The works of these artists are being exhibited in an area stretching over two kilometres within JBR, giving the chance for walkers in the area to engage and interact with what’s being displayed. “The Dubai Canvas Festival brings to life the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, VicePresident and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into an openair art museum. In many ways, the festival reflects the character and diversity of Dubai and its growing status as a global cultural hub that provides a supportive environment for artists to display their art and engage with the public.” stated Mona Al Merri, director-general of the Government of Dubai Media Office. Also attending the event is inventor of 3D street art, Kurt Wenner, whose work has been seen and loved by millions in more than 30 countries. Visitors will have the opportunity to see how master street artists bring their works to life, as this year’s festival will see an even broader array of artists than last year. The ‘Nation’s Race’ Returns to Yas Marina Circuit By Sarah Al Hoshi READ. MARCH 06 - MARCH 12, 2016 I t’s being billed as the day the UAE runs, when an expected 3,500 people fly their colours in a marathon of national unity. The annual Zayed Marathon – held in honour of the Father of the Nation, H.H. Sheikh Zayed – was today announced as taking place at Yas Marina Circuit on 19th March, signalling the opening of online registration. For runners of all abilities throughout the country, the race is one of the standout sporting events of the year - an ideal chance to get fit and active in a fun environment and to run together on a day of national celebration. All proceeds registration fee will go to SEHA (Abu Dhabi Health Services Company) for health diseases prevention, of which Sheikh Zayed was an avid supporter. There are two distances around Yas Marina Circuit, a 10K and 5K run, as well as a 5K “Hand Cycle” race for wheelchair competitors. Young runners will be invited to compete in the 1k and 3k KidsRUN, while a strong line-up of experienced athletes will feature in the ProFIELD event. The race is organised by the Armed Forces Officers Club in collaboration with Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, SEHA (Abu Dhabi Health Services Company). These major Abu Dhabi stakeholders are working in partnership again to support the run in order to foster healthier and fitter communities, a sense of inclusiveness among the UAE’s residents and to celebrate the country’s national identity. “Of all the fantastic sporting events in the UAE throughout the year, the Zayed Marathon stands out as the run for the people,” said Lt General Mohammad Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Armed Forces Officers Club. “It’s an opportunity for friends and families to enjoy a fun day out, to get fit and healthy, and to honour the legacy of H.H Sheikh Zayed by supporting a cause that was so dear to him.” To help people prepare for the big day and to support all entrants, Yas Marina Circuit has organised a free-to-join training schedule. Starting on February 13, the six-week programme features runs at Yas Island Parkland North, Mushrif park, Zayed Sports City and Al Bateen on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays respectively. There will even be specialised training clinics for kids. The Zayed Marathon presents an opportunity to gauge the health and fitness of those taking part. All entrants will have their BMI index and other data measured on site as part of the Yas Marina Circuit’s ongoing ‘Big Data’ health audit initiative to benchmark the UAE’s activity habits. The information collected will add to the existing knowledge base for use in future health planning strategies in the emirate. Total prize money will this year total AED 88,000, with cash prizes It’s been reported that 34.3 million Americans watched the 2016 Oscars ceremony on Sunday, the smallest TV audience in eight years, according to national ratings data. Even though, the red carpet of the Academy Awards is still the best example of Hollywood’s love for pageantry; it’s an event devoted to the fantasy of glamour that fashion can provide. Chris ROCK awarded for first, second and third places in all adult categories. Each competitor will receive a race number, timing chip, finisher shirt, and finisher medal. Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit, said he was delighted to see the return of the Zayed Marathon and urged everyone from children and first timers to regular athletes to register while places remain. He said: “Yas Marina Circuit hosts numerous events that encourage the community to lead an active lifestyle, and the Zayed Marathon is undoubtedly one of the most special. It has a feel good atmosphere that’s hard to match and you really feel a sense of people’s pride in the UAE. “We are looking forward to welcoming members of the community of all ages and abilities to what will be a fun day out with plenty of entertainment. And, as always, Yas Marina Circuit is supporting participants every step of the way to get in the best possible shape ahead of race day.” FOOD Shiitake Donburi 10 Prep time: 15 mins Cook time: 15 mins Total time: 30 mins Serves: 2 bowls Ingredients: Edible Plants M y aunt, who lives with us in our apartment, has a thing for trying to grow edible plants. She has so far succeeded growing a few Malunggay leaves, which is what we call it in the Philippines, but is called Moringa in English. She has had several failed attempts, since our apartment is on the not-sosunny side, however, I was surprised to come home to a medium sized onion growing in her pot on our kitchen windowsill just last week. You may not have a garden like us, but if you’ve got a space in your apartment where there’s a windowsill facing the sun or even a bit of it, then that’s all you’ll need. Windowsill gardening is becoming a thing you should try it out yourselves! Here are 6 more edible plants for you to grow. READ. MARCH 06 - MARCH 12, 2016 Lettuce Place the white root of the lettuce in a glass jar filled with water, without it reaching the top of the stem. Place the plant in the sun and do not forget to spray the roots with water occasionally to prevent it from drying out. After a few days you will see that new roots and leaves have formed. A week later, you can place the plant in some soil, leaving the leaves above ground. Be ready to reap the harvest in just a few weeks! Alternatively, you can put the plant directly into soil straight away. In this case the plant needs to be watered intensively throughout the first week until the first sprouts appear. Ginger Simply plant a spare piece of ginger rhizome in some soil with the buds facing upward. The ginger requires bright light, but not direct sunlight. Do not forget to give it a good watering, and your plant will soon sprout new roots and shoots. When the plant has grown, you can remove it from the soil, cut off the desired piece of the root and replant it again. Ginger is also very attractive to look at, making it the perfect adornment for your kitchen windowsill. Lemongrass Like any ordinary grass, the root of lemongrass needs only a cup of water and some sunlight to grow. It’ll begin to grow in about a week. Then you’ll need to transplant the lemongrass into a pot. When the stalks reach approximately 12 in (30 cm) in height, cut off what is above ground. Don’t worry — it’ll continue to grow! Leek You can use what’s left over from cooking here to grow some leeks. Place it in a cup with some water, and leave it where the sunlight will reach it, such as by the kitchen window. In the winter, however, it is better to find a place away from draughts. The plant’s edible part will grow constantly — so all you need to do is cut it off when necessary. Remember to water it once a week. On the whole, however, the leek is a very undemanding plant. Shiitake Mushrooms 2 Cups Shiitake Mushrooms 1 Tsp Sesame Oil Radish Radish is the perfect vegetable for growing on your windowsill. First you need to soak the seeds in warm water for two days. Then put the seeds into a pot or box, no deeper than 0.8 in (2 cm). Cover it with cling film, water it regularly and keep it away from draughts at first. Once the shoots appear, make sure there are not too many of them, otherwise you won’t get very large and tasty vegetables! The second time round the radishes can be planted in the same soil. Remember — it is good practice to wait at least one week before starting again, and use some fertilizer. Mint You can easily grow mint from seeds. They should be planted at a depth of 0.2 in (5 mm). Since mint does not like waterlogged soil, it’s better to use a spray bottle for watering. Seedlings should appear within two weeks. After another two weeks, you will already be able to enjoy your fragrant peppermint tea. Remember: this plant doesn’t tolerate direct sunlight and usually prefers shade. Glaze ¼ Cup Tamari ¼ Cup Mirin ¼ Cup Maple Syrup For the Bowls At least 2 Cups Sushi Rice, cooked At least 2 Avocados Bean Sprouts Sesame Seeds Scallions Instructions 1. In a saucepan on medium heat, combine all glaze ingredients and simmer for about 10-15 minutes or until sauce is thickened. Stick in the refrigerator to let cool. 2. To cook the mushrooms, bring a pan to medium-high heat on the stovetop. When pan is hot, carefully add 1 tsp of sesame oil. Add mushrooms and stir in sesame oil. Cook until shiitakes are slightly browned. 3. To serve, put at least a cup of cooked rice in each of the bowls. I used short-grain sushi rice but you can use any rice you have on hand. 4. Put the mushrooms on top of the rice, straight out of the pan, and drizzle with glaze. 5. Top bowls with bean sprouts, avocado slices, and sesame seeds (as much as desired). 6. Enjoy with a cup of hot green tea. TRAVEL 12 Packing Smart H ave you ever started packing for a trip and had no idea what to put in your suitcase? MARCH 06 - MARCH 12, 2016 P ermario Morosini, Fabrice Muamba, Joe Kennedy, Reggie Lewis and Frank Hayes; what do all these athletes have in common besides their superb athleticism? They’ve all suffered from heart attacks. Why would those who are exercising and eating properly, and far more in tune with their healthcare needs, suffering from a cause thought to appear once you’ve been disregarding your wellbeing? For the larger part of our lives, we have thought that machines that raise our heart rate level, such as the treadmill, elliptical and Stairmaster – more commonly known as cardio machines, are the way to go to be healthier and lose weight efficiently. However, recent studies have shown that this is not true. The new way to drop weight resourcefully while also stimulating your whole body is by the use of machines that use oscillating vibration such as the whole-body vibration training (WBV). On the TV show The Doctors, a certified trainer from the FBE (Firm Body Evolution) Holistic Health & Fitness Centre named Tracy Effinger promoted the vi- Joe Kennedy reggie lewis Frank hayes piermario morosini bration machines by having one of their guests, Fran Descher and one of the doctors use it. Effinger says, “The way the WBV works is through reflex oriented muscle contraction, which means the brain sends your muscles a message to keep contracting as to maintain equilibrium while the body shakes. 10 minutes on the WBV machine is equal to one hour of running on the treadmill.” Also, the weight loss is almost instantaneous. On the Tyra Banks show, a woman named Kristin tried the machine and lost 1 pound (450 grams) in a matter of minutes. Rosalynn Basford, the spokeswoman of FBE who appeared on the Tyra Banks show also endorsed everything Effinger said, while also mentioning the benefits that come with the WBV. “It doesn’t just burn fat; it tightens and tones the muscles, tendons and ligaments that don’t get attention at the gym.” It improves the circulation of blood in the body, which makes you feel fresher. It also reduces the appearance of cellulite – which is persistent subcutaneous fat causing dimpling of the skin – and increases bone density. Doctors are recommending it to fight 3 Medical Remedies of WBV Cardio: It’s not only what you think it is Doctors are recommending it to fight 3 diseases. The first is Osteoporosis, which is a medical condition in which the bones become weak and brittle, and it mostly occurs in the spine, hips and wrists. Osteoporosis occurs when the creation of new bone doesn’t keep up with the removal of old bone and affects men and women of all races. White and Asian women — especially older women who are past menopause — are at the highest risk. The second is Fibromyalgia; a rheumatic condition characterized by muscular pain with stiffness and localized tenderness at specific points on the body and it’s mostly found in women, and doesn’t have a cure. The last is AMS (Ablepharon macrostomia syndrome) and it is an extremely rare autosomal recessive genetic disorder characterized by malformations of the skull, skin, fingers and genitals. If all these facts haven’t convinced you that the WBV is the best way, let’s take a look at all the drawbacks of the cardio machines we mentioned earlier. According to Emma Watkins, a journalist from Demand Media, running on the treadmill creates stress on your joints. Doing it repetitively can cause a variety of physical injuries from less serious -- but still painful -- heel spurs to more severe issues, including hip and knee problems. Sam Ashe-Edmunds from the same publication adds, “Common exercise machines for aerobic workouts, such as treadmills, exercise bikes, elliptical and stair steppers provide limited muscle benefit because they either use only lower-body muscles or because they only move muscles back and forth.” Ashe-Edmunds also revealed many exercise machines require you to perform the same movement for the entire duration of your workout. This can lead to repetitive stress on bones, joints, how to exercise on the wbv ligaments, tendons and muscles. Be careful when using your precious cardio machines, it’s not bad to use, just used improperly most of the time. My personal trainer always gets me to walk on the treadmill at repetitive motion on exercise machines can lead to bone, joint, and muscle stress the beginning of the session for 10 minutes as a warm up before starting the real workout. You’re not doing yourself any favours by using the elliptical for 45 minutes. Give your heart a break and use your muscles. YOU Putting the “Surprise” Back in Party activities for evenings and weekends, but when you live with the person you’re planning a party for, that’s not going to fly. So pen invitations and surf the web for birthday cake recipes on your lunch hour. To get the word out, create a secret Facebook group that doesn’t include your favourite party animal. 21 How to Keep them in the Dark: The idea that you’d forget their birthday when you’ve known them all your life, or been together for what feels like just as long is a little hard to believe. So tell them you’re planning something for just the two of you. You can keep that info to yourself and let them think that’s “the big surprise.” However, in case that’s not enough, prepare a second idea up your sleeve. How to Get People there: S urprise parties are 2 things: fun and really hard to pull off. Usually, as the birthday approaches, some twist of fate occurs and the surprise is ruined; which means the birthday is also ruined, which is sad. So in order to truly have a happy birthday, READ is going to give you tips on how to throw the ultimate surprise party, and to keep it that way. If the idea is for the party person to arrive at 8:30 and you’re thinking you’ll tell your friends and family to get there by 8:00 on the dot, think again. Play it safe and say 7:30. That way they’ll actually get there at 8 and in time to yell “surprise.” True, there might be one or two punctual guests, but most people can’t help but be late to parties, even when it’s a surprise. Zip your Lips: Choose Location Carefully: Try keeping the guest list to close pals only. That way they’ll be almost as invested in the surprise aspect as you are and they won’t accidentally blurt it out. For those friends you know are loose cannons, wait until the day before to send them an invitation. For the same reasons you can’t work on the party in his or her home you also can’t have the party in that home; and if you start walking up the steps to your mutual best friend’s house, they’re going to know something’s up. Choose your location carefully. Tell them you’re taking them to a new restaurant and do exactly that. When to Work on it: Usually we save extracurricular Birthday Cake Get it right, people. Cake is the best thing about the birthday. molten lava cake MARCH 06 - MARCH 12, 2016 O n the subject of birthdays, and the only real reason we celebrate them, we need to talk about the cake situation. One, stop with all the fruits and the healthiness that we’re putting in cakes nowadays and two, stop breaking the cardinal rule of what a birthday cake should be like! For all of you who don’t know, or need a refresher course, a typical birthday cake is a sponge cake with a layer (or multiple layers) of frosting between the sponges, and topped with frosting. Another type of birthday cake would be the trendy shaped ones with the marzipan, which is cute. Always acceptable is an ice cream cake, because yum, or a molten lava cake, because yum. birthday cake ice cream cake marzipan cake TECHNOLOGY 22 Canon to launch first video camera with ISO 4 million Canon Middle East is all set to take video capturing to newer and greater heights by launching the new ME20F-SH multi-purpose video camera at CABSAT 2016. Finding the Perfect Place for your TV When it comes to designing your living room, decisions related to your television command a good deal of attention. The TV is a source of entertainment around which friends and family gather to unwind and share stories. Some speculate that the days of the television are numbered, but despite the increasing availability of alternative media, TV remains popular. Set your TV upwhere it will be in the direct line of sight of people sitting in the living room. If the sitting area in your home faces a window, a balcony, or a fire place, avoid blocking the view with your TV. A 50 inch Full HD TV screen is best viewed from between two meters and just under three meters. If your TV is a little smaller, you can watch contentedly at a distance of just under two meters. Whether you’re using a stand or a wallmount, TV height is a critical issue. Aside from minimizing reflections, situating your television at your eye-level while seated is the key to a pleasurable viewing experience, where your line of sight meets center of the television screen. When purchasing your TV with a stand, be sure to take into account how tall it is. Ridley—who plays Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens—says working with Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) on the film has been amazing. “Me and Mark have been rehearsing a lot, and it’s really amazing,” Ridley told MTV News on the Oscars red carpet Sunday. “When we went back to Skellig [Michael, the Irish island used for Luke’s hideaway] to do the opening of [Episode] VIII, it was crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people.” She also mentioned the film isn’t just two hours of Rey and Luke staring at each other, but she is excited for the rest. “It’s such a good story,” Ridley said. “Seriously. Luke is so cool in this one. Really.” Star Wars: Episode VIII is set to hit theatres on December 15, 2017. 20th Century Fox has set new release dates for many of its upcoming movies, including two unnamed Marvel character movies, The Predator, and more. The first untitled Marvel film will be released on October 6, 2017, and the second on January 12, 2018. Deadpool 2 is a likely guess for one of these two slots, though we’ll have to wait for an official confirmation. One of the new Marvel-movie dates could be used for Gambit, as it has been taken off Fox’s schedule. Most likely the one in October 2017, given Gambit was going to open this October originally. The Predator, directed by Shane Black, is expected to open March 2, 2018, while Alien: Covenant -- Ridley Scott’s follow-up to Prometheus -- has been moved to August 4, 2017, opening earlier than it was originally planned for. MARCH 06 - MARCH 12, 2016 Fox Sets Dates for Two Marvel Movies HEALTH 24 What Our Unconscious Scribbles Mean Warnings of a Stroke F READ. MARCH 06 - MARCH 12, 2016 or each minute a stroke goes untreated and blood flow to the brain continues to be blocked, a person loses about 1.9 million neurons. This could mean that a person’s speech, movement, memory, and so much more can be affected. Neuro-surgeons claim that if they are able to operate on a patient who’s suffered a stroke within three hours of it occurring, there is every chance that the person can make a recovery. However, realising someone’s having a stroke so as to get help right away, is not always straightforward for most of us who know little about medicine. Learn as many stroke symptoms as possible so you can recognise stroke FAST and save a life! There are four steps you can take to determine if someone is experiencing a stroke: • Ask the person to smile (if they are having a stroke, they will be unable to do this) • Ask the person to say a simple sentence (for example, ‘The weather is great today’) - again, if they can’t manage it there is a high probability that they’re having a stroke. • Ask them to try to lift both arms (if they’re having a stroke, they will only be able to do this partly or not at all). • Ask them to stick out their tongue (if the tongue is ‘crooked’, if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke. If the person exhibits even one of these symptoms, call the emergency services immediately. A cardiologist has been quoted as saying if everyone who gets this information sends it to ten people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved. T here are numerous tests we can take on the internet, to find what your personality is. Some of them may be true, and some may not. We all want to know who we are, and we all want to know what our ‘personality’ is like, in your personal view and in the view of others. One sure way to understand yourself is not by taking a quiz, rather, start by looking at what you unconsciously draw or doodle. We all doodle or draw something when our minds are occupied elsewhere. According to Ruth Rostron, a professional handwriting analyst and vice-chair of the British Institute of Graphologists, “‘We tend to doodle when we are bored or stressed, because of this, we’re usually only half-conscious of what we’re drawing — which means our inner preoccupations surface on paper.” This is what Ruth Rostron said in an article published online via the DailyMail. So what do our unconscious scribbles mean? STARS Stars are often drawn by ambitious people. Lots of little stars indicate optimism. If you’ve drawn a big, bold, embellished star, you’ve got a definite goal in your sights. Neat, uniform stars suggest good mental focus, while freehand, asymmetric stars show an energetic personality. SQUARES OR BOXES Drawing a square indicates you want control of a situation — that you are thinking through a problem. If your squares progress to a cube or box, you’re likely to be a very efficient, analytical person who can deal with difficult situations with little fuss. NAMES OR INITIALS Doodling your name or initials is common for those who enjoy being the centre of attention. Teenagers often doodle just their first name or the initial of their last name, indicating a desire to break away from the family and do their own thing. Doodling someone else’s name, on the other hand, shows they are in your thoughts — perhaps romantically or because they are a presenting a problem you need to deal with. ARROWS If you notice that you’re doodling arrows, then it means that you’re a determined person with a specific goal in mind will draw arrows, subconsciously ‘aiming’ at his or her ‘target’. If the arrow is sharp and angular, the target probably is something important — perhaps a person who needs to be confronted or a job that needs to be applied for. If it is more fluid — and decorated — it’s likely to be the target is an affair of the heart or something the doodler feels passionate about. FLOWERS Soft, rounded petals around a circular flower centre suggest an amiable, family-centric person. If the centre of your flower is a circle, but your petals are pointy, you are probably hiding a warm heart behind a prickly defensiveness. If you doodle a bunch of perky-looking flowers you are likely to be sociable. Drooping flower heads, on the other hand, indicate you’re burdened by worry. BUTTERFLIES Flighty and romantic, fluttering butterflies, birds and bees suggest you don’t want to be tied down — or landed with difficult tasks or problems. The more approachable you are, the more authentic and genuine people will be around you. They Communicate Early and Regularly Likable managers share information in a clear and regular manner. While this skill might sound like a basic requirement for any position, it is even more important to master it as a manager. Employees need to know where they stand at all times. Vague expectations and closed doors will lead to disengagement and morale issues. Likable managers don’t shy away from difficult conversations and disagreements and they use them as an excellent source for creative input and feedback. Likable managers understand that they need to step outside of their comfort zone if they want to succeed. They Hold Themselves Accountable Likable managers don’t shy away from taking responsibility when things go wrong. They understand that they are the main driver to any initiative and they don’t try to cover up failures with a false sense of righteousness. They will always be at the front to clarify the situation and they are solution-oriented. When faced with challenging situations they can see clearly through the drama and keep an eye on their goals. They are Realistically Optimistic Likable managers are both optimistic and realistic. They engage in positive thinking while acknowledging the risks and requirements of any new endeavor. MARCH 06 - MARCH 12, 2016 T he image of the charismatic manager that exudes confidence and competence is certainly one of the deeply engrained stereotypes of leadership to this day. Likable managers are powerful. They have a clear understanding of their own limitations and know that it takes a diverse team of truly creative individuals to come up with amazing solutions. Akhtaboot is here to highlight the habits of likable managers to help you do your best as a manager while focusing on your people. SPORTS 32 Ranieri says Tottenham are title favourites L READ. MARCH 06 - MARCH 12, 2016 eicester manager Claudio Ranieri believes that Tottenham are currently the Premier League title favourites. The Spurs are two points behind leaders Leicester with 10 games remaining after failing to make it to the top since the first week of the 2009-2010 season. However, Ranieiri is confident that the Londoners can end their 55-year wait for a top-flight title. “Tottenham are strong in every situation,” he said. “Everyone is speaking about Leicester but nobody about Tottenham. Tottenham, in my opinion, are favourites. When they defend and when they attack, they know what they want.” Woods can make US team U S Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III thinks that Tiger Woods might have a chance to play in this year’s match with Europe, however the American’s injuries have been “underestimated”. The last time Woods played competitive Golf was back in August; he has also had three back operations in the last 18 months. The 40-year-old tweeted a clip of himself hitting a ball into a virtual screen, saying: “Progressing nicely.” On the other hand, Love said: “If he can play 10 or 12 tournaments in a row, I think he can get his game back and make our team.” Woods is now ranked 445th after being the world number one for 683 weeks. His agent Mark Steinberg is denying reports that the 14-time major winner had suffered a setback with his rehabilitation. Racing to success Finn replaced by Plunkett L iam Plunkett has replaced Steven Finn after he was ruled out of England’s World Twenty20 squad. Finn sustained an injury in his left calf and will not be able to play in time for the tournament in India. The Middlesex pace bowler missed the limited-overs part of England’s tour of South Africa with a side strain. He played a big role in England’s Ashes win over Australia after making a return to international cricket last summer, however his injury problems returned, forcing him out of the series against Pakistan. England are to face Sri Lanka, South Africa and the West Indies in their group, as well as one of the two teams to come through qualifying. D ubai Autodrome was filled with action-packed sportscar racing events, hosting Round 4 of the Radical Middle East Cup 2016. The Lucco Racing team represented by Ludovic Loffreda and Romain Lutter grabbed the Top 1 spot during Race 1 last week, wrestling the prime title from 10 teams. READ got in touch with Romain Lutter, who opens up about his experience with Radical Racing. What got you into racing in the first place? What inspired you? I first raced when I was 10 years old back in France, and all my family is a big fan of motorsports since an early age. From 10 years old, I did European championships until I got to university, and ultimately when I moved to Dubai I met Ludovic and we decided to make Lucco Racing Team together. And it’s been two years since we are partnering in the Radical Middle East Cup. What is your most memorable moment as a driver? There are many different moments but one key is when I was around 10 years old, my father got me my very first go-cart, when the environment was totally different because as a kid you are not used to so much power and responsibility. Do you ever see yourself as a Formula 1 driver? I would stick to Radical Racing; I’m 34 years old now so if I wanted to be a Formula 1 driver it would have been difficult and already too late. Motorsports is a passion first of all; thanks to Ludovic and I, we managed to have a good team and there is a lot of team spirit, mechanics and experiences on a weekly basis. Although all are important, what do you think is most important, a strong upper or lower body? For physique, first of all cardio is important. I remember my wife bought me this arm band where you can measure your heartbeat, calories and so on. I used it for the qualifying session for 15 minutes, which burned 325 calories; and your heartbeat is between 160 and 170 all the time. So when you’re going for 45 minute races, you should be in good condition. I do a lot of running and resistance exercises. There isn’t too much of muscular activity, but you need your muscles to be quite resistant all throughout the race. Apart from motorsports, are you a fan of any other sports? I like football. I support my own regional team, FC Metz, which is known for Robert Pires. Tuilagi joins England’s Six Nations squad M anu Tuilagi has joined England’s Six Nations training squad before their match with Wales on March 12th. The 24-year-old suffered a serious injury which sidelined him for 15 months, and has now returned to first-team duty for the Tigers. Richard Cockerill, Leicester director of rugby, stated that it would be Tuilagi’s first time to link up with the England squad since the tour of New Zealand in the summer of 2014. The Leicester centre is among a group of 33 players who have gathered in Bath to prepare for the title-deciding showdown against Wales, while Exeter back rower Dave Ewers also returns to the group. Editorial Danielle Hosri Chief editor Arnold Pinto Publisher Mae Cabigas Wissam Aoun Nour Sheety (MAR 21 - APR 20) Today is an excellent day for pioneering ideas and activities, and all eyes are on you as you forge a new path. Count on your ambition and enthusiasm to drive you ahead, and don’t get too preoccupied with how your actions might be taken by others. Editors TAURUS GEMINI You might have a hard time trusting others, and you should pay heed to that hesitance. Risks right now probably won’t pay off, and you need watch out for your own priorities. You’ll be energized by socializing, and you’ll learn a lot with likeminded people. You just can’t beat teamwork. You’ll get the most done if you can partner up with others and work towards a common goal. Those alliances could become troubled later on, and you might have trouble making sense of someone’s agenda. (APR 21 - MAY 21) Hassan Fawad (MAY 22 - JUN 21) VIRGO Do something for yourself! You’ve done enough for others lately, and you deserve some healthy self-indulgence -- especially if it involves some quiet time to yourself. Expect that introverted trend to continue this week. Romance is on the rise! You’re full of fire and flirtatiousness, and your energy knows no bounds -- expect others (naturally) to fall smitten at your feet. You’ll have the drive to get what you want, provided you’re willing to help others get what they want, too. You’ll want to rush ahead on Monday, but you can’t. Obligations and obstacles block your way as the week begins, and you’ll need to just go with the flow. On Tuesday and Wednesday, all that hard work and planning you did will finally pay off. LIBRA SCORPIO SAGITTARIUS You can communicate with unusual quickness and clarity. Use your articulation to explore big ideas and let others know what you’re really thinking. You’ll feel the depressing pressure of old problems and issues, but don’t give into that maudlin mood. Go on and get up caught up in the moment! Your week begins with an overdue surge of impulsiveness -- although beware that someone influential might encourage you to take an unreasonable risk. (Find the balance between being brave and being foolhardy.) It’s a red-letter day! Ah, if only all your weeks could start out this way. All your best qualities -- your playfulness, optimism and good-natured charm -- are doubled for the day. Later, you might find yourself feeling a little more conservative. CAPRICORN AQUARIUS PISCES Anything is possible with a little perseverance. You just need to dig in and stick to your plans to make things happen. Your amazing proficiency for planning continues to save the day, and others will be amazed by how much you’re able to get done. Find a common cause. You’ll do your best work -- and have the most fun, too! -- if you can connect with others who want the same things you do. On Tuesday and Wednesday, you’ll need to buckle down a little if you’re hoping to make the same progress. Luck is on your side! Fortune favours you, provided you’re smart and attentive about how you press your advantage. (Just be sure to think before you speak.) Others will look to you to guide theem, and you’ll have no problem picking the right path.
