Mission Statement
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York is a religious community that
inspires the mind and spirit, honors religious freedom, and embraces diversity; its
members minister to each other with love, and work for a just society
Auction Basics
AUCTION PADDLES:
An auction paddle entitles you to bid on all of the services and goods presented by the auctioneer on the night of
the Auction and will be distributed on the night of the Auction as you enter the building. Each paddle will have a
number that will be your official bidder number, enabling the auctioneer to identify you by number each time you
bid.
AUCTION PROXY:
If you cannot attend the Auction personally, there is no need to miss bidding on items you would like. You may
designate a proxy to bid for you or we will assign a volunteer. Fill out the official Proxy form located in this
catalogue. Have your proxy show the form and get your number to use when bidding for you. Don’t miss that
special auction adventure or meal just because you must be elsewhere on auction night.
TO BRING THE EVENING OF the auction:
Your checkbook, cash, or credit card; auction catalogue; readiness to have fun, and your date keeper so that you
might fill it with future fun events!
BIDDING:
The auctioneer will announce basic ground rules and procedures at the start of the auction. For those items that
have a minimum bid, bidding will begin at that level. Events for multiple people will be sold on a PER PERSON
basis unless stated otherwise.
PAYMENT:
All payments are due the night of the auction, and sales are final. The cashier will accept payment by credit
card, cash or check made payable to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York.
DISCLAIMER:
This catalogue contains items donated as of March 01, 2016. All items and services are offered by the indicated
donor. Although we expect all food will be delicious, all lessons inspiring, and everything else to be similarly
delightful, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York makes no representation as to the quality of
competence of the items or services offered. The Auction Team reserves the right to make changes to donation
listings as they deem appropriate.
BUYERS MUST COLLECT:
It is the purchaser’s responsibility to collect any and all items purchased at the Live or Silent Auction. We
recommend that you collect all items or services as soon as possible unless you and the donor agree otherwise or a
date is already stipulated in the auction catalogue.

• UUCY Auction 2016
Welcome to the 2016 auction!
This family-friendly event is a really fun way to raise funds for our beloved UUCY
community. We will have music, food and our Dazzling Desert Dash!
This year, pre-registered children will enjoy a fun night. They will enjoy pizza, games, crafts,
and music, as well as a movie for ages 6 and up, while parents carouse at our Auction.
Infants and children thru age 5 will be watched by our qualified nursery staff.
Tickets are sold in the lobby on Sundays in February and March. This year, enjoy the
convenience of registering for kids and adults, and sponsoring the Auction, all securely
online, at the Auction 2016 tab at www.uucy.org. You will be contacted before the Auction
evening with your paddle number.
Ticket price is $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Please note, no one is turned away for
financial reasons, as in-kind scholarships are available through March in lieu of ticket
purchase. See a member of the committee.
If you cannot attend this fun night, you can still request a FREE bidding number to bid or
assign a Proxy, who can bid for you the night of the Auction.
The success of the Auction depends on all of us. Please support UUCY with your bids, or ask
how your talents might still be utilized.
We are still looking for a few good volunteers to help set up the Auction.
We also need help tearing down after the Auction, and preparing the
Sanctuary for the Sunday services. Please see the sign-up sheets on the
kitchen door in the Lobby and thank you!
Sincerely, the UUCY Auction Team
