The 1st Annual 2008 Back to Basics & Trader Joe’s Thanksgiving Food Drive generated a total of 1591 lb. of food and over $240 in cash donations (worth $2880 in food value for Second Harvest). We are excited that by partnering again with Trader Joe’s & Yogaworks our joint efforts will enable us to exceed our past donation and reach the 2009 Thanksgiving Food Drive GOAL to raise over 2500 lb. of food! The Back to Basics,Yogaworks & Trader Joe’s Thanksgiving Food Drive will kick off on Saturday November 21st at three Trader Joe’s locations and continue with donations being accepted until November 30th at Back to Basics Health and Wellness in Newport Beach. It is only with your generosity that the Second Harvest Food Bank is able to continue to provide food for thousands of individuals in Orange County who would otherwise go hungry. As reported by Second Harvest: Hunger in Orange County? “In one of the world’s most affluent places, more than 456,000 people are at risk of going hungry sometime each month. Most are children and seniors. Until the job market fully recovers, the need is greater than ever: With some of the country’s highest rents, people in Orange County often need to chose between paying rent and feeding their families.” As health and wellness providers, we believe it is our duty to reach out to our community and help in as many ways as we can. Back to Basics Health and Wellness and Yogaworks would additionally like to provide you with a Thank-You Bonus package to recognize your contribution this Thanksgiving (attached on the back of this letter).
