NEWSLETTER – OCTOBER 2011
Issue No: 3 NEWSLETTER – OCTOBER 2011 Dear Parents, I hope you are all well and enjoyed our recent heat wave, although autumn seems to have arrived now and I’ve even heard we could be seeing snow by the end of the month! It was a pleasure to meet some of you Wednesday evening at parents evening and I look forward to meeting more of you on Monday at our second parents evening. Those who came Wednesday appeared to be happy with what they were told – all the children seem to have settled really well into their new year groups with their new teachers. Remember if you have any concerns or issues don’t hesitate to come and talk to me. Best Wishes Sue Dury Earrings I have spoken to the staff and we have decided to change the school rule regarding earrings. So many of your children have pierced ears that we have decided to allow earrings to be worn in school. If you choose to allow your child to wear earrings they must be a small stud for safety reasons. If your child comes to school in hoops or earrings that dangle they will be asked to remove them. It is also important that your child covers their earrings for PE lessons. It would be helpful if you could provide your child with tape for this purpose but we will keep some at school if it is needed. I realise this only affects a small number of you but I hope it will alleviate the problem of having to remove earrings on a daily basis. Jeans for Genes Day I am very proud to announce we raised £212.33 Well done everyone. Midday Supervisor urgently required. New members are always welcome so if you feel able to support our schools amazing PTA please let me or one of the PTA members know. Remember all the events organised raise funds which help to provide a richer learning environment for your children. SPORTS NEWS Ickleford boys played in a rally at Wishere Dacre a couple of weeks ago and played really well. They won 4 of their games and drew one. The girls played against Wishere Dacre yesterday and had a resounding win 9-0. Excellent playing girls well done. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for next week! More sports news next time.
