Ticket sales, robust as they were, covered
only half of the costs for this success.
Special events and rentals helped fill the
gap, but our Members’ donations were the
second largest source of income after
tickets. In a very real way, none of those
260 shows would have happened without
them.
This is the true joy of Membership, not
your name on a plaque, but the knowledge
that your donation brought live performance to so many people. Membership
fills hearts and widens eyes. This is the
true joy of being a Member of The Kate.

Since opening in September of 09, the
Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center
has put on more than 260 performances
and served more than 32,000 children and
adults. Everything from puppetry to magic
to modern dance has graced our stage and
artists from Ed Asner to George Winston
have made the journey to Old Saybrook. It
has been a truly magical time for The Kate
