We are required to collect 7.75% California sales tax on the sale of tangible personal
property sold at auction. Sales tax on these items will be charged to the purchaser on
the final invoice.
All other applicable state and federal tax laws apply to prizes won at raffle.
Silent Auction and Raffle tables open at 6:00 pm and will close as announced during
tonight’s dinner.
All items purchased must be paid in full this evening by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard
Discover or American Express.
Before purchase, please note that some items and/or packages may include
restrictions such as dated gift certificates, specific dates for travel packages, and any
gratuity, excise or sales tax requirements.
Please note, estimated values are provided by donors and have been accepted in
good faith.
All auction and raffle items must go home this evening, unless specific arrangements

magnificent event, gracing the cover of over 175,000 brochures, 500 posters, and incorporated in
the event website. In addition, your dog will serve as the Grand Marshall to lead off the Walk. A
customized photo portrait session will be arranged in February 2013 for your dog to use in our
marketing materials, and you will receive a framed picture as a memento of this wonderful

A Special Video Tribute to the Animals
Every year, we create a special video tribute to the animals and the people who care for
them at the San Diego Humane Society. At the end
of the video, we ask the audience to make a
donation, regardless of the amount, to support our
work on behalf of the animals. This portion of our
program has become known as the “Stand Up for
Animals” video tribute because you are, in effect,
taking a stand for the animals. This video has
become a much-anticipated portion of the Fur Ball
program.
As a non-profit organization, the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA depends upon the
generosity of donors like you to provide the funding necessary to care for thousands of
animals each year and continue our life-changing community programs. The “Stand Up”
video showcases the animals and programs that you are here to support—now and in the
future.
Your 100% tax-deductible gift during our “Stand Up for Animals” segment will support the
care and adoption of animals – some of whom you may meet tonight – as well as our vital
programs like community education, animal cruelty investigations, Pet-Assisted Therapy in
hospitals and healthcare facilities, and more.
