Poncho is worked from top down, in the round. Size One size. Pictured poncho is 10” in length, with a relaxed neck circumference of 15”, easily stretches to go over a 19” diameter head. Width at shoulders is about 23” relaxed. Yarn Illustrated poncho was made with 4 oz. handpainted roving handspun in a loose thick-and-thin single at about 10 wpi overall. (Suggested commercial alternative: Noro Aya.) Needles US Size 4 (3.5mm) circular needles, 16” and 20” Gauge Approximately 11 stitches, 12 rows per 2” in stockinette stitch (precise gauge is not critical to success of project). Bind off When desired length is reached, p final 3 rounds and bind off loosely. Finishing Weave in any ends; embellish if you wish with buttons, ribbons, etc. Block lightly to help define shoulders and points around bound off edge.
