across four states. Nebraska tells stories of family life in
the heartland of America, in a touching and deceptively
hilarious way. A most compelling and memorable film.

Mud is an adventure about two boys, Ellis and his friend
Neckbone, who find a man named Mud hiding out on an
island in the Mississippi. Mud befriends the boys and

former lover, who lives in town. It is a modern day
Huckleberry Finn tale with fantastic cinematography.

becomes an essential, intimate part of his life.

Kill Your Darlings is a powerful drama as we watch an
inevitable tragedy unfold. The title is a clever play on words
as a real murder will infect the lives of a close circle of
friends of poet Alan Ginsberg, played by Daniel Radcliffe,
during the early period of the 50s Beat Generation at
Columbia University.

Mary Meets Mohammad is a remarkable documentary film that asks us to look inward at our own humanity: to knock down
our own misconceived barriers of race, religion, age and difference to rediscover the true meaning of community. The film is
at times distressing yet heartening; watching the relationship between Mohammad an asylum seeker and Mary a retireeaged woman and member of the Bridgewater knitting club (Tasmania) is endearing.

Ocean. The Australian outback is superbly photographed
and the camels are wonderfully cranky.

and take-charge Meg, are heading to Paris to relive their

discontentment between them. Relief of sorts is at hand in
the shape of Morgan, Nick’s former colleague.

families who have lived here all their lives. A series of photo-essays explore the rich humanity of people in the area, including
Shirley Swallow and Kevin Smith who brought the Swanpool Cinema to life. Foreword by former Prime Minister Malcolm
Fraser, essay by photographer and writer Robert McFarlane. The launch will be followed by a feature documentary by ‘Cedar
Box’ director Charlotte Laemmle on the 60 year history of her family farm and the changing face of farming . Local residents
young and old are included in the cast.

A man infected with AIDS defies corrupt FDA treatment to
procure non-approved medicine that makes him and other
AIDS patients actually get better. This film is multi layered,
deeply emotional and highly entertaining. McConaughey
delivers an excellent performance as Ron, a despicable
man who slowly turns into a caring likable person.

A Swiss professor saves the life of a girl who wanted to
jump off a bridge in Bern. He abandons his teaching career

embarking on an intellectual adventure to Portugal. Instead
he ends up being taken on a journey of self-discovery.

This first feature film shot entirely in Saudi Arabia is the
story of a young girl determined to raise enough money to

women cannot drive or vote, writer–director Haifaa al–
Mansour has broken many barriers with this film.

A suspenseful psychological thriller, Gone is set in rainy
Portland, Oregon. After supposedly escaping from a
kidnapper, Jill is convinced the abductor has returned. Now
she claims the possible serial killer has taken her sister,
but with no signs of a struggle, police are hesitant to
believe her wild tale.

An Iranian man reunites with his estranged wife in Paris to
finalize their divorce, which is soon complicated by a
shocking revelation by her daughter from a previous
marriage. The Past has an excellent script – the characters
are truly convincing and their dilemmas are credible.
Farhadi maintains a balance between drama and realism.

Stars: Ami Ayalon, Avi Dichter, Yuval Diskin
This is a candid style of documentary that interviews all the
surviving former heads of Shin Bet, the Israeli security
agency. The level of honesty was unexpected, the sincerity
of regret was a surprise and the overall message that Shin
Bet didn’t work was a real revelation. The film bravely puts
focus on Israel’s behaviour as an occupying power.
