Ottoman, panama, satin, heavy twills, piquet weavings, soft and creamy handles, water-repellent/proof treatments and very clean technical cottons are all prevalent. Colors range from pure to dirty white, light grey and black for the grounds. Extreme colors appear in stripes and technical fabrics. SCHOELLER TEXTIL | [penthouse booth 302] Windproof and waterproof c_changeTM membranes adapt to different environments by opening and closing, offering the ideal body climate. Fabrics enhanced with NanoSphere® provide a self-cleaning function; 3XDRY® ensures a feeling of wellbeing. Textiles with the new ColdBlack finish remain cooler than conventional black fabrics. Most of the Urban City fabrics comply with bluesign® (the worldwide strictest ecology standard). BEL MAILLE | [penthouse french pavilion] Fancy circular knits, jerseys, ribs and jacquards in cotton, cotton/modal, viscose/silk or viscose/linen are developed in fine yarns and gauges. Acetate and viscose reveal bright effects. Hemstitched or structured mesh fabrics, micro-patterns, stitched, piqué and jacquards give a spirit of bicolored or multicolored lace. SOMMERS PLASTICS | [penthouse booth 910] A thermo chromatic color changing material changes color when interacted with heat. The material has been used for upholstery (visualreferencestudio.com), sneakers (Puma), and most recently Calvin Klein supported an enti re collection using the material. AgUARDIAN, an antimicrobial material is suitable for upholstery. TEX-RAY LOS ANGELES (TRLA) | [penthouse showroom 14] Performance fabrics developed for outerwear, sportswear, active wear and casual wear that can be customized to incorporate features such as body zoning, UV-Protection, anti-microbial properties and much more. Fabrics are made from quality raw materials and constructed to achieve the highest levels of functionality, weather protection, comfort and durability. DEVEAUX | [penthouse french pavilion] Yarn dyes, color wovens and knits, prints, jacquard novelties for ladies, men and children, with a quick turn around and low minimum. Tie-dyes, ethnic prints and ikat and gigantic plaids are among the latest trends. Chintz and shine are everywhere. JB BERNARD | [penthouse french pavilion] Jacquards, knits and prints developed for formalwear, cocktail and diffusion boutique, are lightweight, illustrated by raised, contrasted (matte, bright, opaque, transparent) and supple materials in a colorful and luminous range. SOIERIES CHAMBUTAIRES | [penthouse french pavilion] Colorful fancy metallic stretch taffetas, metallic ground jacquards with big flowers, and several new qualities in 100% silk are among the new introductions. MOTHER-NATURE CHIC. The lush growth of ecologically-friendly fabric collections fuels earthconscious design. to aggressive processes such as bleaching, causticising, enzyming and stonewashing. Jeans developed with environmentally friendly TENCEL® and biological cotton can lead to an ecologically sound end product. MicroModal AIR from Lenzing, a 0.8 dtex fiber, is the lightest, finest MicroModal and is suitable for lingerie. MICHAEL MILLER FABRICS | [penthouse booth 808-810] Eco-friendly fabrics include knits, wovens and trims, all designed to inspire with the comfort of knowing that you are doing what you can to help the environment. The 100% organic cottons are grown without the use of pesticides that can be harmful to the environment. Yarn dyed cottons are produced with natural vegetable dyes. Limited to a neutral palette, interest is created through weaves and texture. Hemmers/Itex BEL MAILLE | [penthouse french pavilion] Their “Future” line features bio cottons, viscose bamboo, Kapok cotton, bio cotton silk and 3D spacer for lingerie. BOTTONIFICIO BAP by TESSILE GROUP | [penthouse booth 214-216] Innovative buttons and accessories in new shapes and in recycled and biodegradable materials such as paper, cotton, hemp and briarroot will all be prevalent. This season’s introductions include new shapes in natural materials such as horn and vegetable ivory, perfect for menswear. BRITANNIA | [floor 7, showroom B763] Wool has become a fascination with the eco-greens; micro-modals, especially in the prepared for dye, as totally green. Fiber is harvested from Aspen trees and manufactured in a strict closed system with zero waste. Also available: jersey, interlock, and PDR knits in extra fine wools. CARR TEXTILE | [penthouse booth 2000] An eco-friendly line of 100% organic cotton twill will be available in 24 colors. In addition to using organic cotton, grown without herbicides or pesticides, the dyeing process is done with low-impact fiber reactive dyes. The whitening of the fibers is done with hydrogen peroxide, instead of chlorine bleach. ROBERT KAUFMAN | [penthouse showroom 29] Newest additions to the green movement include bamboo knits and ‘Ultima Eco’-recycled polyester made from recycled plastic bottles. Bamboo/cotton jerseys, with and without spandex, will also be available. The print collection draws inspiration from nature, with motifs like leaves, trees, birds and flowers. SCHOELLER TEXTIL | [penthouse booth 302] Fabrics made of 100% recycled fibers, produced in accordance with bluesign®, are bi-elastic and in elegant-sporty versions. schoeller® dynamic twills are available as lighter versions with fine, subtly glossy surfaces or in a courser version with a wind-repelling micro coating. The two schoeller®-WB-400 versions feature low-key optics and the familiar soft-shell benefits. A camel colored fleece lining provides cozy warmth, and the 3XDRY® feel-good technology can be added. The three-layer schoeller®-WB-formula focuses on function. All are woven in environmentally compatible "Eco Circle" polyester. The dominant coloring is strong, intense tones such as full-bodied, deep red, vibrant green or dark shades like chocolate or cognac. ZEN TEX | [penthouse showroom 10] Greenstyle, the eco-friendly/organic division of Zen Tex caters to fine organic and eco-friendly fabrics in broadcloths, lawns, twills, prints, knits and other novelties. EPIC | [penthouse booth 2005-2007] Eco-friendly Tencels, cupros, Bembergs and linens will be showcased. An organic collection includes heather-dyed knits with onion-like double layers, quilted reversibles and colorful stripes. Lightweight double layer gauzes, mid-tone colored dobby dots on natural bases, seersuckers in checks and stripes are colored to play back with the knits. FARBETEX by TESSILE GROUP | [penthouse booth 214-216] Presenting organic cottons composed of yarns and dyestuffs that respect the environment. HEMMERS/ITEX by STUDIO BERT FORMA | [penthouse booth 200-202] The company will feature a wide range of ecological fabrics and emphasizes rich looks both in colors and surface interest. Colors and structures from earth and nature have given the idea of creating wonderful and coordinating programmes of soft handle plain fabrics and colored wovens together with amazing new embroideries and latest prints on a high variety of different materials. LENZING | [penthouse showroom 32] New developments with TENCEL® and Modal® will be featured. TENCEL®, the purest cellulosic fiber, fully biodegradable made from eucalyptus wood from responsibly managed forests, has a nanofibril structure that ensures optimum moisture management that supports natural bacteriostatic properties without the need for chemical additives and thermal regulation. Lenzing Modal®, fully biodegradable, is made exclusively from the renewable raw material beech wood from sustainably managed forests in Austria and neighboring countries. Due to its fiber strength, TENCEL® can also be used as a blending partner for cotton and in particular to jeans subjected Zen Tex SPRING-SUMMER '09 EYE-CANDY. Vivid color and luscious textures bloom in bold florals, geometrics, paisleys, foils, glitters, and metallics. Elliott Berman ALLEGRI GROUP | [penthouse booth 110] Four-color quadrichromy printing melts and overlaps colors to create a multitude variation. Floral, geometric and abstract patterns, all oversize, appear on knits, meshes and linens. Metallic prints with brilliant effects and ombres on mesh and knit also feature. Soft and light mousseline in cotton, linen and viscose yarn and piece-dyed, jacquard organza in linen/cotton/silk/metal; fancy checks, silky jerseys, crepon and taffetas will also be available. BEYOND THE LOOM | [penthouse booth 405] Their Ipeker collection includes beautiful shimmering printed fabrics, double printed fabrics (printed burnouts), featherweight printed cotton voiles, and delicate viscose/nylon burnouts with soft blurred flower motifs, geometrics, batiks and tie-dye ombres. Target knits include a range of jacquards, very sheer qualities and custom-made trim by the meter in simple ribbon shapes to scalloped two-tone edging. Beyond the Loom specializes in developing and manufacturing tweeds, “Made in the USA”, both small and large orders, at affordable prices. BOTTONIFICIO BAP by TESSILE GROUP | [penthouse booth 214-216] New interpretations of Galalith will have a strong presence. Inspiration is drawn from the 80’s, street art, rubber and technical interlacements with metals. Ethnic styles meet urban, shapes and fabrics explode within a mosaic of colors. lightweight sweater knits. MICHAEL MILLER FABRICS | [penthouse booth 808-810] A collection of 100% cotton sheeting prints from their new licensed designer, Sandi Henderson, with bold flowery designs is fresh, lively, happy, and youthful. BRITANNIA | [floor 7, showroom B763] Ponte de Roma (PDR) in rayon/nylon/spandex is featured in three weights, including a unique heavy weight. Elegant evening gown fabric in viscose matte jersey is available in 30 colors.
