you can offer assistance. As always, thanks for
everything you do on behalf of Catholic Charities
Atlanta.
Used Furniture and Volunteers Needed
This year has brought larger than usual numbers of
arriving refugee clients and Refugee Resettlement
Services needs your help! We are looking for
couches, dressers, kitchen tables and chairs to
furnish apartments and volunteers to help set them
up. Most apartment set-ups occur weekday
mornings from 9am to 12pm. Please contact
Kimberly Longshore at (678) 222-3964 or
klongshore@catholiccharitiesatlanta.org for
more information.
Volunteers Needed to Serve as Family Friends
for Newly Arriving Refugees
Refugee Resettlement Services is looking for
Refugee Family Friend volunteers to work with
new-arrival families once a week, in their homes,
for their first four months in the United States.
Refugee Family friend volunteers help refugee
families ease the stress of moving to a new country
and way of life and assist them in learning things
like how to take care of their homes, how to go to
the grocery store, and basic English. Contact
Kimberly Longshore at (678) 222-3964 or
klongshore@catholiccharitiesatlanta.org for
more information on donating and volunteer
opportunities.
Bikes and Bike Accessories Needed
We are in need of bikes and bike accessories to be
given to our clients who have successfully
completed a safety workshop and demonstrate a
need and desire to own a bike. Primary uses for
these bikes will be transportation. Thus, rather than
a recreational outlet, our clients will be using these
bikes to transport themselves to and from work,
school, grocery stores, and doctors' appointments.
We would like any of the following donated:
Any type of new or used bike in working
condition or in need of basic repair (i.e.chain, brakes, cable repair, tires). We will
take road, hybrid, mountain bikes,
cruisers, etc.
Helmets in new condition
Locks
Bike pumps
Front and back lights
Please contact Jordyne Krumroy by email at
JKrumroy@catholiccharitiesatlanta.org for more
information.

A HUGE thank you to the ladies at Corpus
Christi Catholic Church. Over the summer
they threw a baby shower, enjoyed cupcakes,
played games, and had a great time. Best of
all, they gave all the gifts to CCA!
We keep a baby supply closet to provide new
moms with any immediate supplies they may
need. Without the help of caring people like
these ladies, we would not be able to help
those in need in our community.
If you would like to make an in-kind donation to stock our baby supply clos
contacting Sandy Thompson at 404-920-7748 or
sthompson@catholiccharitiesatlanta.org.

They recently collected items to help fill

AACCW is an asset to our community. W
like to thank all of these wonderful ladie
champions for Catholic Charities Atlanta.

Every three years, our national partners at the
U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops
(USCCB) visit our Refugee Resettlement
program to review our case files, speak with
our staff members, and visit several of our
refugee clients.
Since October 2010, CCA has resettled 705
refugees with the support of our Archdiocesan
community. Our services include furnishing
apartments, providing cultural orientation,
helping our clients gain access to health care
