Wow! Those are the amazing results of the Chamber’s big Membership Event held March 19 and 20. Not only was it a very fun and exciting event, but 156 additional members makes us stronger and our voice louder as we work to build the strongest business Susanne Sartelle climate in Eastern North Carolina. I cannot think of anything more important to write about this month than to say THANK YOU to the many volunteers who made this event successful. From the top, Phil Ahlschlager as Chamber Chair, Michelle Brooks as Membership Vice Chair and Don and Boots Mills as Membership Event Co-Chairs, all deserve a big hand. And how about a big roar for the Team Chairs who produced: Tommy Price (the winning Maroon Team!), Leo Corbin & Stephanie Hinnant (Duke Blue, really?), Liz Freeman (the new “Godmuddah”), Will Franklin & Mark Phillips (the new “Godfaddahs”), Billy and Toni Walton (solid Gold!), Gail Nichols (how many shades of gray?), Chris Taylor (is watermelon really a color?) and Patti McGee (queen of the runners!). Then there are the producers! Thank you to all the amazing volunteers! In addition to the Group Chairs named above, Team Captains and Team members who brought in new members and runners who visited the new members are listed here. Thank you EVERYBODY!! I really enjoy visiting businesses and asking what the Chamber can do for them. It seems to reconnect them with the Chamber and gets them back involved with different events. The Chamber really is a resource for local business. Being able to dissect their mailing list to accommodate their needs or to provide a complete local business guide Frank Salvato has been well received. The business before and after hours socials have been refreshing to see the networking that goes on. Leadership in Community Development and local organizations confirms the Chamber’s mission to build the Strongest Business Climate in Eastern North Carolina.
