FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Sarah Barten Public Relations Manager Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Grand Casino Hinckley Phone: (320) 532-5939 or (763) 238-0717 E-Mail: sbarten@grcasinos.com Wednesday, May 28, 2014 “WHEEL OF FORTUNE” TO INTERVIEW POTENTIAL CONTESTANTS AT GRAND CASINO MILLE LACS AND GRAND CASINO HINCKLEY ONAMIA, Minn. And HINCKLEY, Minn – Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Grand Casino Hinckley visitors will have their chance to audition to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune as part of a preliminary contestant search. Three one-hour sessions will be held at Grand Casino Mille Lacs on Friday, June 6, at 6 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 9 p.m. and at Grand Casino Hinckley on Sunday, June 8, at 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3 p.m. How it will work Everyone who comes to a “Wheelmobile” event will receive a color-coded application, corresponding to a specific one-hour show. Applications will be submitted upon entering the casino Events and Convention Center. Prior to each show time, all applications will be put into a golden drum on the stage. When the show begins, the Wheelmobile host will pick applications (in groups of five) at random from the drum and call participants up to the stage to play the game. Each contestant on stage will do a brief interview and play a simulated version of the Wheel of Fortune Speed-Up Round. Each contestant will be evaluated as a potential contestant for the show. At the end of the round, all contestants will be awarded a prize. After the Wheelmobile event at Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Grand Casino Hinckley, Wheel of Fortune staff will choose the people they believe will be the best candidates for the show based on their overall performance on stage. These candidates will be invited to take part in a final round of auditions, which will be held in the Minneapolis/St Paul area within a few months of the event date. Wheel of Fortune staff will get as many people up to the stage as possible. However, there will be more people at the Wheelmobile event than can audition. For this reason, some slots will be reserved in the final auditions for people who attend Wheelmobile events but do not make it on stage. Names will be drawn at random from all applications received at the Grand Casino events for these slots. If you are invited to the final auditions, you will receive a letter or e-mail within a few months of the last Wheelmobile event.
